I'm watching a documentary on The Small Faces and Itchycoo Park reminded of just about the worst cover I've ever heard.

M People had a go at it and it is absolutely shameful

What are the other worst covers ever...?

Taking away the emotive circumstance of the song. Nine inch nails version was simply much better.

"There was a cover of "Under the Bridge" by All Saints that was the epitome of awful. "

There are tracks out there that should never be touched, and that's one of them for me.

I'm not a fan of Robbie Williams or Angels but Gene Pitney absolutely murders it here...

It sounds like a bad karaoke, not a supposedly well respected professional singer...

She didn't pay any attention to the song or the meaning of the words it was just a "look at what my voice can do"! Just because you can hit all those notes doesn't make it better. Mostly simple and with emotion is far more effective.

The Dolly original is subtle, poignant and gorgeous. Whitney had a cracking sey of pipes but just because you can go off on flights of melisma doesn't always mean you should.

She also did two versions of heaven by Bryan Adams, one was the candlelight mix and quite good. The other version was a dance anthem... That song is in no way a dance anthem

My worst is Madonna's version of American Pie. Now that's how you massacre a classic!
