May flies...

They live under water as grubs for two years, yet when they mature into grown may flies, they can only survive for half an hour... the male flies out number the female flies 10 to 1, and all they do for their whole lives is fight amongst each other to try to have sex with a limited amount of females.

Reminded me of some of the single men on Fab...

I was taking pics of dragon flies this morn..such lovely beasts..

one of my best pics from a cpl years ago was two ,mayflies mating on a lilly, theyd made almost a heart shape

Just where I need to be.

This reminds me of the insect cicada. They had it harder buried for 16 years underground and only had 48 hours to find a mate. Valentines 2014 Stephen Fry narrated a short animated clip called Ciacada Princess. Beautifully written.

Yes I was looking up the Life history of the damselflie nymph and the dragonflie today, the dragonflies is Easier compared to the damselflies when growing to adult, we Have a few common hawker dragonflies around at the moment in the garden.
