Odour (human pheromones), female/male sexual attraction and Immune system

I recently watched a documentary and read articles about a study that proved that body odour are connected to sexual attraction... no surprise so far, nonetheless the study showed that women preferred the body odour of men whose immune system differed from their own...

Never wondered why a body odour is more attractive to you than another (keeping in mind that both partners are cleaned) ?

Our immune system has a role in our sexual selection of partners

Isn't the general view that this is more subconscious than conscious though?

In America there are some dating events where everyone takes a jumper and sets a number. People take it in turns to sniff the jumpers and if they likey they write the number down. Two people who put each others number go on a date... it could work...

It's interesting and our mate choices are largely unconscious imo and odours are very primal stimulants.

Hormonal contraception/medication also has an effect on how you react to pheromones.

I was on pill when I met ex, came off pill to conceive went right off him!

I agree. Who I'm attracted to can change depending where I am in my month. Also more likely to want man during ovulation than a woman

It was exactly the result of the study, during ovulation women picked men with facial masculin traits... yet picked the same men with facial feminim traits outside their period of ovulation...
