I saw today of Facebook, someone had filmed the shoreham air show crash as it happened and stuck up on the website more or less right away.

Is it me or is this bad taste, but I find it really annoying that someone seems to think that this is an aceptable thing to do, considering 7 people have died in the incident as well.

Very bad taste. If you were a member of one of the 7 dead's families would you want to see what killed them so graphically?

Social media has no morals.

Unfortunately with technology so advance you have to expect this. Technology can be used in good/bad situations. Had the person not uploaded the video somebody else most likley would have.

Better if they'd offered it to help the accident investigation people first.

Obviously the camera person wouldn't have known there were fatalities. So, poor taste? I don't think so. Ill timed? A tad.

Plus relatives might not know yet that family members were involved but you can't really stop people with social media how it is and how easy it is to use the Internet

We live in a desensitised society, where were subjected to images all the time.

Big difference to videoing it from afar to doing so where there may have been an option to help.

Besides all the footage will help the Air Accident Investigation Branch.

I remembered when a taxi driver hit a dog in the road. I pulled over and put my coat over him to keep him warm while I was on the phone to the vets. Some loser did a 3 point turn and drove slowly past filming me twice. If I had something suitable to hand I would have launched it through the window

A few years ago now a young lady(14) got knocked down off the school bus going home and some boy who was older had his phone out ready to take pictures as the bus drove past sadly not to take pictures of the car that knocked her down. Sad really as one of her mates got a hold of the boy and kicked the living daylights out of him for the lack of respect. I agree it's in bad taste for the likes of that sort of thing but news crew it's different.

As I'm very local to it my Facebook is full of status's, videos and pictures of the incident and the aftermath and I don't very feel very comfortable with it especially as I was at the same spot waiting at the traffic lights only 15 minutes before the cars that were hit were. Makes you wonder "what if"

They might actually. Sometimes people do want to see. They'll be imagining it constantly anyway. Some think it's better to know than to continually imagine the worst.

However, it's far too soon at the moment.

I think it is in poor taste to post such footage on social media etc, however, I wouldn't go as far as calling for the filming of these incidents to be banned, as such footage can prove very useful to investigators trying to work out what happened.

News shows generally have some sense of decency and timing. It goes to edit and is run by legal and a whole raft of people before it appears on news at ten. Yes they still get it wrong but putting stuff on FB within ten mins or so with no moral sounding board can more often lead to bad taste and inappropriate mistakes imho

Its bad taste especially when you see graphic material. It does however have its good points. For example a young mentally challenged boy was filmed being beaten by a group of youths in America last year. The group were charged with the assault cause they were stupid enough to post it on their Facebook

O o O oo

People like to announce " I was there" I think. I was more confused at why people were filming funeral processions...who would they show that to

It annoyed me more when a good while after it was posted, someone mentioned that 7 people lost their lives in the crash.
