A friend of mine just posted proof of a viral story about a soldier being refused service for wearing his uniform in tesco being a lie.

Apparently there isn't even a tesco in the location stated in the "story"

Has anyone else found a story on faceache that is just bullshit.

Most stories on Faceache are bullshit. Particularly the "if I get 1,000 likes I'll get a free life-saving operation" type bobbins.

As if hospital policy on who does / doesn't get critical life saving treatment depends on how many Facebook likes they get? And some deluded idiots believe it too

I don't have the Face thingy but I do wonder why everyone thinks that because something is on the interweb it must be true?

Wikipedia gets used as a first resource by people and a fair bit of it is just made up.

A lot of my clients try to use wire services to disseminate fraudulent/inaccurate news stories. One story got through a few months back, a company almost doubled in value on the FTSE as a result - causing a criminal inquiry.

Everything is now checked via laborious manual reading.

Religion for many years has tried to get people to accept facts without questioning them and accept eye for eye retribution with considering consequences

Most of these types of story are peddled by Britain First, the EDL or other right-wing groups. They're absolute shite 99% of the time.

Does anyone else watch Person of Interest?

I loved how they put into the storyline that Finch created Facebook because the machine needed more data.

It's absolutely believable too.
