Blocked Eustachian tube

Hello folks I've got a blocked Eustachian tube (part of the ear) after having a cold. Been to the docs and he said there's nothing he can do about it and it will go within a few weeks. It's really doing my head in though. Anyone had the same thing on here? Did you find anything to help clear it?

Sudafed or a similar decongestant. Go to a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for advice on the most effective.

Resting the ear against a warm hot water bottle can help sometimes too.
