"I'm naturally optimistic. Certainly not happy all the time but I overcome disappointment, sadness and anger quickly. I generally smile my way through life but enjoy a good cry or blowing my top from time to time to clear the tubes. On the whole it enabler to be laid back, see the humour and fun in life, even when faced with adversity. I recognise my flaws, accept them and change the ones I can no longer live with. So yeah I'm pretty contented and happy most of the time " This

"I was a happy child and I look for positives in everything but there are a lot of things I wouldn't try,and I don't go around thinking life is always a bed of roses. I'm a realist "

"I often get asked how I can be so happy all the time. It takes effort. Lol. I don't see why, if I'm upset or unhappy, that I should pass that feeling on to others.but that's just me. Everyone has their own problems without me adding to them with mine but if I see someone down or upset, I make it my mission to help them. I always have a positive outlook on life and try my best to live by that. Ive always believed that if you hug someone, I mean really hug someone, who needs it and not let go until they do, it will make a difference. Even if only a small one. (her) " hugs are the best.

"I am very go lucky and would like to think that I am happy. I think that there are probably a couple of reasons why I have adopted this attitude. First my son is chronically ill. As a dialysis patient I see him endure no end of treatments, tests, heartbreak (rejected transplant 4 years ago) and all sorts of associated illness and ailments as a result of no kidney function/long term dialysis. He is a lovely young man who I am very proud of. I could sit there and lament his future but that then has an impact on his now and now is important. Now is the only thing that matters to us. For us now is seizing life and all its opportunities and making the most of them. We are having great fun along the way. The other reason is my work. I encounter all sorts of people who have the most tragic/ desperate stories to tell. Poor people living in squalid accommodation with no aspirations other than to survive the next week. People with no support networks, no family, no money, no hope. How can I be miserable or unhappy? I am blessed. I have a good life. I have hope and I have opportunities. It's not always been that way and I have had to learn not to worry or complain about the things I can't control which affect my life. You only have one life and trust me it could be so much worse. I love my life. I love being spontaneous and I love being happy. I don't worry about money, about possessions or about what will happen next week. What will be will be. There's a quote from Shawshank Redemption which I think sums it up. "Get busy living or get busy dying!" "

"Do we have any people on here, who would, being completely honest, describe their outlook on life as being a happy and enjoyable one, someone who's heart radiates with positive energy, who will take a shot at anything, enjoy it, and if it doesn't work out well, that's fine, you can always take a shot at something else and enjoy that too! If so, have you always felt this way about life (ie were you a happy child?) and why is it that you think you're as happy as you are? What advice would you offer to those who aren't?" I'm quite a happy person. Advice I was given: Be the peace you want to see in the world. We all want someone or something to make us happy but are we happiness to them? Share the love!
