The other thread about *saying* something stupid, made me think of a few actions of something stupid...

One that springs to mind is at work on a construction site we had to rope lift a pipe up some scaffold, so gave the young lad (Geoff) a rope and told him to climb up. We'd then tie the rope safely to the pipe and help him pull it up.

So, rope on his back he climbs up the scaffold. A few minutes later he gets up there and looks over the edge.

"Ok" we shout, "throw the rope down".

So he threw the rope down. All of it.
