Love the Elvis comeback special when he is wearing the black leather suit.

I also love the version of "Are you lonesome tonight" when elvis cracks up laughing then he gets the giggles and can't stop.

We like this stuff that never got recognised as his biggest hits.

Kentucky Rain. A fantastic song.

Elvis' version of Something sang live. Phenomenal.

He did a haunting version of Gentle On My Mind.

The guy was an absolute genius.

The biggest ever loss to music when he died so young.

What struck me was how bad his taste was... but then it was the 70s.

Your last sentence is probably the most valid. His taste was probably great for the 70s, however there is something we need to remember.

Elvis grew up in great poverty. Really, really poor. Maybe he sometimes bought things not because he liked them, but because he wanted them.

That make any sense?

That's all Right- the original version by Arthur Crudup.

What a shame that Elvis's 'Greatness' didn't extend to paying the bloke a few dollars in royalties owed for the several songs of his he had hits with, instead of wasting it on tatt he didn't actually need- Elvis Aaron Presley- glorified covers singer and all round crook

Each to their own. Maybe you didn't know he had a team of songwriters who also wrote for him?

Biggest artist of all time so we guess he got something right.

Right place, right time, right image, right marketing.

Team of writers or not, he blatantly fucked over a more talented artist when he didn't need to- and not just one

I am very lucky to be going to Memphis in August 2017 for his 40th anniversary. We spend 5 days in Memphis, with 3 Graceland vista including the midnight vigil on his 40th anniversary and trips to Tuplar , then fly on to Las Vegas to where he played, then on to Hawaii.

Depends if they paid the royalties owed on covers (granted Oasis ripped off their overall style as well as Liam's desperate attempt at being Ian Brown- still, at least they wrote the majority of their music, similarities or not to other stuff)

Lol. Each to their own. My man den is festooned with Beatles and boxing memorabilia. Doubt Elvis would have liked that. He probably would like the bison head I have on the wall though!

I was working at Moorfields Eye Hospital when I heard. My all time favourite singer. His voice can move me to tears.

I love the song......It's Over, from the Aloha from Hawaii soundtrack. (different it's over from Roy Orbison song)

I'm going out of this world with Elvis singing, Can't help falling in love.....if it was good enough for Elvis to end his performances on, then it's good enough for me x

Played Memories at my dad's funeral.

A bit late.

I was 10 and on a family holiday. It was pouring with rain when the news came over the radio. I remember my dad being quite upset. The really early stuff still sends shivers down my spine but then dad used to walk me round the lounge, bawling my head off as I was teething, to Rock and Roll No 1.
