Yesterday I logged in to my Facebook account after a long time. I looked at the sections "friends you may know" I found a few from this website it was very strange. Then I realised that every person that I met on her who's number I got in my address book and has whatsapp is showing up. As whatsapp is owned by Facebook. So they are crossing ref details

Be careful who you give your mobile number out. As they are some sick people on any website not just this one.

It's to do with your iPhone automatically syncing with friends apparently?

I think

Yes I had noticed this too a while back, but luckily I don't give my number out to anyone here unless I have known them for a good few months and met them .... it was a bit weird though, seeing people's Facebook pages

I've noticed this, I think it's just Facebook using telephone numbers? I have a request from someone I don't know that says they used my number to find me??

I've never put my phone number on facebook but this still happens. I think your phone does it if they have their number on, so like just one of you has their number on there.

Watch out for KIK that can now be hacked and used for identity fraud honestly all these apps are more trouble than they are worth

Don't ever give out personal details for anything message on here only safest way and as most people have Internet access anywhere via there's phones now a days no excuse to not log into fab to just message to confirm the day of the meet. I can understand the does the fem exist phone call but if you have your wits about you can soon suss out time wasters like that without it having to be an issue

You can be cross referenced by many means now including email addresses, which a lot of apps ask for. Remember to go through all privacy settings wherever you have your email or phone number.

It's amazing how many "single" guys say something different on their Facebook.

I am married and up front about that to everyone. But a few years back I met someone who was aware I was married and she started to get to attached. I ran a mile.

They are really going to get a lot out of my Kik messages. Whatsapp is less secure than kik anyway.

I say different things on my Facebook - its about family and friends, whereas here its something different - I doubt many of us are exactly the same person in what are essentially two very different places...

I see people from the forums who have mutual friends. And even more so the london kink scene. Once you let this side of your life meet your vanilla one you need to max up your Facebook security

They hack into kik and use it to access your device you use it one it's actually quite clever and it the fact it's an "anonymous" app that shocks soany people that suffer from the identity fraud via the app

"Whatsapp is easier to hack, what's your point?"

My point is None of these type of apps are really safe they can all be hacked once they have acces to your device via kik every app you open any app on that device they have access to it, Facebook, bank apps etc it's scary what they do and how they do it. See it quite regularly in my line of work

It's unwise to give organizations like facebook your mobile number. I refuse to have my photos tagged with my name there too by anyone.

Facebook has always been rather invasive of everyone's privacy......it is an insidious and creepy set up....and why thousands of people are leaving it daily......its a bit old school anyway as well as being a pain in the ass!

I saw one person on my people who you know thing a while back who ive never even messaged via fab let alone exchanged Numbers with.

Funnily enough yesterday I saw 4 fabbers on it! But all of those have my number. And I wouldn't give my number to people I haven't met and trust amyway so it's not a problem

Two words:
