Also, the theatre "Woman in Black" scared me and left a lasting impression. Watched the new film while I was pregnant. You don't see that much gory action really, leaves more to the imagination unlike the new Texas chainsaw films which I think is more freaky. Plus the low budget look and feel of the original made it more scary than the newer ones.

The butterfly effect freaked me out, as did jaws and dog soldiers, I've rewatched those and gotten over it somewhat (except swimming still sometimes gives me mild panic, especially the sea) but the murder scene of the main characters friend in color of night or whatever it's called with Bruce Willis still gives me nightmares as it was quite brutal. Great sex scenes though

When I first saw Alien at the Cinema. It had been built up in the media campaign and the fact that you didn't actually see the thing in its entirety until it was ejected at the end was a stroke of genius. I will never sign up for a deep space mission again.

I don't watch films likely to freak me out. I'm enough of a tense, stress bunny anyway without watching scary, psychological stuff.

My imagination is too good to give it those sorts of ideas.

I haven't watched a horror film in years.

I still have the heebie jeebies about Bob in Twin Peaks - him at the end of the bed, beyond the footboard - and how many years ago was that shown now?

I used to love supernatural horror films but since I've lived on my own I can't watch them! DVD man gave me a film one night called case 39 and I watched it and couldn't sleep for weeks after it, it mentioned things like demons feed off your emotions so if you feel scared or anything it gives them more power! Had to sleep with my telly on and 24 hour news for a good 2 weeks!
