I am not trying to be contentious, but it did get me thinking - there are loads of new flavours out there, but do you like the old fashioned sweet? Salt? Mixed? We were at a garden centre last week and found chilli and lime flavour, we thought it would be great - its horrible, don't go there - what's your favourite type of popcorn please?

I like sweet popcorn or toffee.

I can't bring myself to try the new mixed up ones. It just doesn't seem right.

I'm quite liking Worcester sauce flavour as a lower calorie snack right now. As a kiddie I used to like the toffee popcorn but I guess that was lethal on the waistline!

Its not, trust me - although our teenagers love the funky ones ... what does that say about us?

Our palettes are more refined because we're older and wiser ?

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

You have to have an opinion on this one, surely - if not, we will take it that you are a lover of chilli and lime?

I got caught out once by salted popcorn. I abhor salt on anything. I only thought there was toffee before that. This is the first time I found out there were other flavours probably never going to try them either because toffee is my all time favourite sweet thing, and not just popcorn

I bought some garlic popcorn from the Garlic Farm when I also bought some elephant garlic to roast. I stank for weeks but it was delicious!

I'm normally a popcorn traditionalist. Bit of sea salt and done. I have tried the Worcester sauce one though and it is really, really good.

Honestly it was gigantic!

Smother it in oil, stick it in the oven wrapped in tin foil, roast it and when you unwrap and squeeze out the gloves it's the consistency of butter. Mash into tatties and enjoy! I was like a beached whale who'd overloaded on carbs after!
