I've had a record breaking marriage proposal after 48 hours knowing someone today - I use the word 'knowing' in the loosest possible sense.

I just wanted no strings fun.

Has anyone had similar?

Not actually to do with swinging but my parents did. My dad proposed to my mum after 4 hours of meeting. Back in 1974 and made the press because of how quick. Love at first sight and 2 daughters later

Minxie, will you marry me...down on one knee and everything, and there are records to be broken!

Lovely thread though...My marriage [now divorced though] followed a more traditional timescape.

Nice stories here though...keep 'em coming I hope

My parents had a long engagement compared to your stories. My mum and dad met at a dance and there was instant chemistry. He asked her to marry him a few hours later on the way home - they were married after only 9 days of knowing each other.

They went on to have me and my three sisters - he sadly died in 2008 after 47 years of marriage.

I must have an old soft head on today because that made me think awww that's lovely.

My parents were not as quick as that but my Dad always said he knew from the first date she was the one, and they were married for nearly 50 years too before one died, them the other dies pretty soon after, I think with a broken heart.

See, soppy day for me....* goes off to slap myself around the face *

Awww... hugs x

I think that's what will happen with my folks. 51 years married and still in love... it really is fab to watch. We do laugh about them both being wiped out in the same accident cause then I wouldn't have to watch one without the other. Then we divi up the furniture hypothetically and laugh some more.
