Could I have opinions please? Especially those from women?

I sometimes take courses of them. Plays havoc with my skin and makes me bloated, but at least it's preventing complete renal failure. Highly recommended.

Id be concerned over someone using them for bodybuilding, but theyre rife amongst many young male gym goers.

If i like someones body, thats cool, I dont ask questions.

Make women look like men, shrink men's bollocks and fuck up your heart and internal organs. They're drugs you just don't need unless for medical reasons.

Taking them on prescription isn't fun since they have lots of side effects but they're usually only prescribed after other stuff has failed.

Taking them without a prescription is just plain stupid, they have so many side effects and risks that taking them without medical supervision or any knowledge that they are what they claim to be means that it's a lottery with very bad odds. Some may get good results others will get damage to their hearts, problems with their skin and aggression and men can damage their balls and sexual ability permanently.

A mate of mine took them when he was a bodybuilder a few year ago! He's had kidney and liver problems plus he spends most of his time in a weelchair as his joints are wornout with lifting to many heavy weights

They are helping keep a good friend alive and helping her maintain a large degree of her cognitive function. So I think they are pretty fucking ace.

If you mean using anabolic steroids for weightlifting I would assume as they are a class c drug it can't be disciussed on here in the same way we can't discuss other illegal substance use

As someone who's been in the gym a long time lifting quite heavy weights , with the hindsight of time it wasn't a good idea. The way I work out now is functional, a delt for example isn't designed to lift 60kg, it's meant to lift your arm.. Which is why I screwed mine up for over a year

Steroids will add to that - as well as the known effects as you'll be able to do more longterm muscular damage. Don't go there!

I am on prescription steroids for Rhumatoid Arthritis and they are helping. Not sure what context you were referring about but would personally only take these as prescribed by a specialist/doctor

You still need to train heavy and eat every 2hrs to feed the steroid, if not it will eat up the muscles, only if competing it might be worth it but not for the gym goers that does it as hobby, to many side effects.

Although if using them you can train thru the protein synthesis that otherwise someone clean have to wait 48hrs between body parts, which would allow you to train everyday and make gains.

Why do it if your looking for quick gains and to cheat yeah why not but surely taking your weight lifting or body building seriously hard graft and nutrition is all you need.

OP.... you haven't indicated what capacity of steroid use your enquiry relates too.....

Medically they can be of great value...

But people who abuse them and encourage others to use them for vanity or to enhance performance are nothing more than knobs of the highest order ..... in my humble opinion....

I work with a lad who takes them for body building. You can see his moods change on a daily basis.

In powerlifting or weightlifting or any competitive sport it can be regarded as cheating, taking performance enhancing drugs.

Pharmaceutical Testosterone prescribed by my docs. Had low energy levels in the morning and tired in the evening.

Used to have prescribed steroids fir Asthma years ago but they can become dependance forming, to the extent I can actually 'taste' them now almost 25 years down the line after reading this

As for training with them forget it. My body would take well to them but I'd look a freak and I try to train everything as a system like the Army or Marines.

Eg Good strength, stamina or endurance but not simply to bulk up

Too many side effects but whatever floats your boat.

What I do love are those that all out insist what they have is purely down to 'good diet' when it's obvious they're on the juice. I appreciate there are those that do stay totally clean but those who don't but insist they do....why?!

I had enough of spots, small nuts, mood swings etc whilst going through puberty, I don't need to be going through all of those again anytime soon.

Met a guy on steroids once, spotty skin, balls like shrunken walnuts and couldn't stay hard. Might have nothing to do with the roids but probably didn't help matters.

I think it's a bit embarrassing as there are loads of good supplements out there which are legal. Why would anyone bother? If someone is that insecure or bothered that they can't shape themselves naturally / legally, then steroids isn't the answer to that problem.

Seen many addicts struggle with stopping, and people take them without actually caring about the content - not rocket science that a lot of them have serious problems years on.

Glad my prescription keeps me at the top end of the natural scale rather than going anabolic. I don't fancy smaller balls and managed to avoid spots completely growing up.

I also forgot one side effect no guy would want.....MOOBS!!!

Some men, those who don't research properly or are a little too blasé, simply take steroids but none of the other supplements that should be taken to prevent moobs. I recall hearing on the radio how there is an increase in teens / early 20 year olds asking for cosmetic surgery to remove moobs which have developed due to steroid use.

It just seems the cons far out weigh the pros unless you want to go show and in the category which allows roid use.

Of course it's use for genuine medical reasons is fine and I'd like to think docs know what they're doing when they prescribe dosage size to prevent nasty side effects, albeit slight weight gain may well happen.

Our systems are so sensitive and complex that people may in effect shut down their own body's efforts to produce their own hormones effectively.

I find it sad that lots of younger guys get pressured to feel inferior.

That's all I think of when I think of steroids anyway.
