"Lol! Google is your friend... In a nutshell it's when you change the temperature of the water in your shower from hot to cold. Apparently it helps with muscle soreness and even strengthens ones immune system. As an alternative, one can warm up in a sauna, have a cold shower immediately...and then repeat.... It sounds like sensory overload, but those that do it, swear by it. According to the fellas that write the QI books, there is evidence that supports the efficacy of such ....madness!" Explaining the nature of your post was more efficient than me googling. And no, I don't have 'contrast' showers.

"My shower did it automatically when the boiler was on the blink. Going hot to cold and back again just makes me feel sick." I did it to a friend of mine recently cos I washed my hands while she was in the shower. Twice.

Not a pleasant surprise...

Done the sauna to swimming pool, not the best idea but it is nice going back in the sauna afterwards.
