To be honest every time I've fallen in love its not ended well. They just didn't love me back.

However I would say it should feel like toasted marshmallows. Warm. Comforting and just lovely. And it should make you melt a little if not a lot x

It feels safe , he will always look after me. At nearly 20 years we love each more than ever. Love is feeling complete. Love is letting me be the person I am and only he sees that person. Love is letting me be on fab and letting me live out my fantasies. Love is all consuming and of course love is sexy and sexy and sexy

That's certainly a different kind of love. Similar but different. A blood bond. It's an unwavering connection, where you'd literally give up your life in an instant, to save theirs. No questions asked. The cruel part being you only ever truly feel that love when they're no longer around. When it feels like your heart has been torn from your chest. And your own life suddenly feels incredibly empty.

I guess it's totally open behaviour and communication, understanding and honesty towards each other. And just that feeling of content and security, whilst mixed with fun, laughter and some good stuff

Yet to get it, I'm old school though - I think you get one love and that's it, I don't understand people who have like 6 marriages

There's that beautiful little speech in Good Will Hunting, where Robin Williams is talking to Matt Damon. This pretty much sums up what love is for me...

You've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sitting up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes, that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause it only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself.

I believe I felt love with my first love. The bottom sentence is exactly how I felt.

I rest my case on the last two ladies comments.

Better off without, its far too dangerous.

Just turn up, get used, be happy, thank them and send them a box of choccies

Far less painful.

Love is a delicious torment - when I am with him I can't quite believe he is in my life, I savour every moment. Whether or not the love is reciprocated has no bearings on the depth and intensity of my love for him, xxx

Amazing. ... exciting..warm.. contented. .. until it goes wrong

Then love can be theeeeeeee most painful feeling in the world...

Love can make you feel on top of the world or rip you apart.... not sure I want to love again in fear of going through the pain..

For me?

Acceptance, mainly. Someone who you can be yourself around.

Someone who makes me laugh and puts a smile on my face. When you try and do lots of small special gestures and not just the big grand flashy things.

Someone who wants you even on the bad days, when you don't even want to be in your own company!

And - this happened once! - someone who showers you, towels you, dresses you for bed and combs your hair and ties it up after you've been sick all over their parents' bathroom.

When it goes wrong, its makes the sane, logical, respectful; fall to pieces, nothing else will matter, the world is ending, ripping itself apart and you're trying to holg it all together, hoping it'll be alright and at the same time shouting why? why? all I ever did was love you with my heart and soul, WHY?

You can keep love.... its more dangerous than than the atom bomb for your sanity

What's love but a second hand emotion

What's love got to do, got to do with it

Who needs a heart

To be honest, I don't think I experienced love until I had kids, the commitment and responsibility towards them that is unconditional, and my acceptance of who they are, is something bigger than anything else I thought love was. If you give up your self centred behaviour and put the other person above yourself, and they do the same for you, that is what I see as love. But if all you think about is what you get from that person, I don't feel there is love in that kind of relationship.
