You don't need to go anywhere in particular in Belgium to meet fellow cyclists....

You need to watch the Belgian episode of Micky Flanagan's Detour De France. As a keen cyclist myself you should ride here, make love to my wife, then when you've got your strength back we'll go for a ride!

Gent is a beautiful city and its between brugges and Brussels. There's also a really lovely hostel (if your staying overnight) not sure if you have go book in advance though
