" Anyway, I carried on getting older, the bike got heavier, I got more sensible, the councils put out more speed cams... no fun anymore just a worry. " You should get one of those flip mechanisms for your number plate, or learn to pull wheelies past speed cameras. My first bike was a GS125, took my test a couple of weeks after 17th birthday and was finally legal to ride the Benelli 354 Sport I'd been blasting around on for ages! Had a Gpz550 when I was 19, stuffed it, and it put me off bikes for 10 years, when I got a Gpz1000RX, which I still have. Also got an XRV750, which I've ridden all round Europe on. Next year - Mongolia or bust!

"I wonder how many people will know my first bike. It was a NSU Quickly 49cc " I had one of those too! "Ooohhh I missed out the Vespa 150 scooter i borrowed off my cousin after the Quickly got nicked from college." My second bike was a Lambretta TV175. Progressed to proper vehicles after that!
