Burton upon stather

Parcel sent out for delivery on monday, still not arrived, contact customer service and they need a description of the parcel so now I have to wait for the eBay seller to sort it out and if they can't I have to wait for a refund :-/

Apparently Hermes are notorious for "losing" parcels, although I sold guitar hero 5 a few years ago and sent via royal mail and either they lost it or the buyer lied because I had to refund them through eBay after they claimed it never arrived (serves me right for not using recorded)

anybody else had a bad mail experience?

Last year I bought two fans in the summer, they where " lost" more likely someone thought mmmmmmm we could do with these in this hot weather.

I did get replacements sent out with no quibbles though.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I once met a chap who had aged considerably since he had uploaded his photos. That was a bad male experience.

When I'm buying anything and see its being sent via them I always contact seller and offer to pay extra to have it sent by royal mail

Lost a few things over the years, but was sending and receiving as a business, so higher volumes than average I guess.

A couple of sales on ebay I suspected the recipient had actually had the goods but fancied having 'something for nothing', couldn't prove otherwise so had to say sorry you didn't recieve, here's a refund.

On the other hand a set of quite expensive one-off custom wheels didn't arrive and the courier couldn't trace them after the distribution centre so had to pay for another set to be made and delivered to us.

Hermes are an utter nightmare. 3 times I've bought stuff online that was was to be delivered by them. Only one of the 3 ever arrived which was a pretty expensive electrical item and when it did arrive (several days late) the box it arrived in was soaking wet! Now I contact every seller who I'm interested in buying from online and if they send via Hermes I simply won't buy from them, it's not worth the inevitable hassle. For all the bad press Royal Mail and Parcelforce get I've never had any problems with them yet.

My friend has recently been buying a lot of expensive tools. She was away on a 3 day course, I popped in to feed cat/water plants, and found 3 grands worth of equipment, on the doorstep, in view of a main road, soaking wet boxes. The card said left in secure porch!!!

In my work I deal with various couriers and honestly they're all as bad as each other.

Hermes did this to my mum recently too. The delivery driver had pre-written the "sorry we missed you card" and didn't even ring the doorbell. Mum was in the hall when he left the parcel on their doorstep, (the card also said "secure porch"), so she saw him, (the front door is partially glazed). By the time she opened the door, the driver was back in his van and halfway down the road.

I also know of two cases of serious damage caused to expensive items ordered by friends, because Hermes delivery drivers have thrown the packages over tall garden fences.

They're shocking.

I've been expecting a deliver this week. On Tuesday, when I was in, there was a missed delivery ticket on the door step. No further attempt has been made to deliver it. Their customer service people are clueless too.

In mythology, Hermes is a bit of a prankster.

Looks like he's still up to his old tricks.

Last time I had a parcel sent to me by Hermes, I had to collect it from their depot.
