Many may have met - via socials, clubs and parties. It's a great way to network and meet people, even if you've no interest in getting jiggy with them!

But many have only gotten to know eachother online - so there's no difference between someone who's been arseing around the forums for ages and someone who's just started joining in.

There's no exclusive club. No membership criteria. And no initian ceremony.

I guess the more people post the more you get a feel for them.

I thought this before I got involved. Be yourself and be polite; I find commonality with all sorts of people on all sorts of subjects and have made a fair few friends on here, and not just people who I would necessarily want to get intimate with.

Exactly this, before my self imposed exile I attended a couple of clubs and met several forumites who made me feel more than welcome. There is no 'club' just a lot of people who know each other

A quick browse of the events forum shows plenty of clubs running socials - some of them freebies - over the next couple of months!

For those showing interest in meeting others, especially forumites, i'd wholeheartedly recommend going to one.

If nothing else you can put names to faces and enjoy some banter. And I'd be fibbing if I said there'd never been any incidences of anything else happening at such gatherings!

I frequently consider socials at clubs or pubs, but feel the same about them as I did about the forums, very apprehensive.

I find the idea of going to a club a bit intimidating to be honest.

"A quick browse of the events forum shows plenty of clubs running socials - some of them freebies - over the next couple of months!

For those showing interest in meeting others, especially forumites, i'd wholeheartedly recommend going to one.

If nothing else you can put names to faces and enjoy some banter. And I'd be fibbing if I said there'd never been any incidences of anything else happening at such gatherings!

I frequently consider socials at clubs or pubs, but feel the same about them as I did about the forums, very apprehensive.

I find the idea of going to a club a bit intimidating to be honest.

I'll just hide here in the forums for a while.

I was like that, once... a wee while back. The first social I saw lots of people saying they would be going to was Beach Party at a club. I was too nervous, at that time, to go.

Ten months later I felt more confident and went to another Beach Party themed social, this time at Cupids. Meeting Keenfucktographer and WyrdWoman sitting in the beer garden (well, basically the car park) at the hotel and had a great time.

Some people were just as I expected them to be and others were more of a surprise (Obi in a mankini fits into both categories there).

The worst that will happen is that you decide it's not for you and you don't ever want to go to another one.

On the question the OP raises, I message people and arrange my Fab Tours to try and meet up with those that interest me (not just, and rarely, sexually) for a drink or dinner.

My list includes:

Jack and Kate

Invictus

Classy Laydee

and, this may surprise him,

Sexybrain.

I would love to meet the people I listed on here because I think they would be great fun to chat with,have a laugh with & generally socialise with as I like their forum posts & they seem like decent people.

I don't want to have sex with any of them so I'm not kissing anybody's arse on here.

The closest city to me, that contains anyone from the forum I'd like to me, is 200 miles away, it's a long way to go for a drink and a chat!
