BRIGHTON, UK

Watched uk movie " ILL MANNER"

A little disturbing... But in your opinion how accurate was this depiction..

I am aware there are some tough estates in London... and existence is no doubt hard..

But is it exagerated?? Is there really areas where any vice is readily available to those in the know??

I was brought up in Peckham, and the north peckham estate was notorious for crime, so many dark corners and alleys, I used to avoid it at night, I think it was torn down years ago, I haven`t seen the film, will look it up. But yes, there are some horrible estates.

I havent seen the film but I was brought up on a London estate before escaping. When I moved to Glasgow, I lived in an estate called Drumchapel; I learned a lot especially about fighting and survival.

I met some really great people and I think to key to surviving, even thriving, on some estates is the attitude of mind.

But you get estates like that everywhere.

There certainly are estates like that in Birmingham, I see the youth from those estates, and I feel for them, there's no time to be a kid and it's a constant fight to stay on top and maintain a reputation, and before anyone starts jumping on that and saying they are scumbags, gaining a reputation is the only way to survive in these places, it's a sad life, one that I'm glad I no longer have to deal with, and one my kids won't have to experience

As I always say, if you can't get what you're looking for in London then you're not trying hard enough
