Council tenants could lose their homes if they get a job or a pay rise, sparking fears that residents will be put off looking for work.

They face tests every two years to see if they still qualify to stay, under plans unveiled today by Housing Minister Grant Shapps to axe the property-for-life pledge.

Those who don't will have six months to find another place, forcing them into high-rent private homes or on to the property ladder.

same here they should only do it people on job sekkers who refuse to work then take the house of them not do it when people are working that's Punishment from the tories if they do it ?

Thats a bit arse end up if you ask me. Those that work should get free housing. Those that don't who claim benefits (and fecking sack fulls of dosh) should have to pay.

Jeez if I could only run the country for a day.
