What does a wink mean?

Is it a break the ice showing interest type of thing or just a polite response from some one you've winked?

Only reason I'm asking is we winked a couple, they winked back so sent a message introducing ourselves and it just got deleted?

I always use a wink to break the ice. That's how I assumed they were meant to be used. But I've been in similar. Someone winked me after I winked them and I kind of took it as a sign to start talking and my message got deleted with no response :/

I use a wink to say a quick hello and I like your profile. Though to be honest they rarely work.

You cant beat a well composed message . If I get no reply just shrug and move on .

Ladies on here get hundreds of messages aday so us chaps have to be aware of that

Harmless fun for some, the Devils mischief for others.

We just take em as a harmless bit of fun 'we like what we see' kind of thing. Not everyone likes the wink system but hey, if we all liked the same stuff........zzzzzzzzz

I agree...there are too many to look through as well as dealing with messages. We always respond to all of our messages as effort has been shown so we will reciprocate

I use it to break the ice, if I receive one in return I then message.

Different people take it different ways I guess.

I thought people winked to show they expressed an interest in your profile ! Some people get inundated with messages and often don't get to read them all! I guess it's a quick way of saying hi !

I frequently use winks as a way of showing interest.

Sadly the winks system appears to not be functioning as it should as when viewing some profiles I've seen that they've winked me but they never appeared in my received winks folder.

Don't know it it's only affecting me (doubt it) or if anyone else has noticed this.

That's so weird when that shit happens.

Had the same with some fuckwit couple + they continued winking, so had to block them.

Short answer - don't wink + ignore anyone who winks at you.

It's a tool for those who find words hard

We usually find winks are sent by guys who are even too lazy to type fancy a fuck!

Both we hasten to add will get deleted with no response.

A nice introduction mail is the best way to get our attention, it may not get a meet but does normally receive a response

Unfortunately not even a nice intro mail seems to work with most we've messaged lately.

Weirdly I've had more success from winks than nicely composed introduction messages....

id like to know where you got that idea from about winks sent by lazy guys who are too lazy to type. A wink is what it is ' a wink ' , and by definition it is used to show interest or attraction. Or is fabs' definition of sexual advancements different from the norm ?

Always thought a wink was another way of showing your interested as well as messaging. Is strange as thought of if you receive a wink back its green light to message, maybe not everyone thinks the same

Just from personal experience, just because you do not agree doesnt mean we are wrong. If you have a different opinion thats great we can only go by our experience and agree its not all guys .

I use them as a simple way to express a quick hi to others, or return potential interest is someone's winked me.

It's easy, doesn't involve people drafting the best written messages since sliced bread and I don't get the same pressure as a recipient compared to a bulging inbox.

its not a matter of who is agreeing or disagreeing,, its just the simple fact that a wink is a gesture to show attraction and not necessarily a tool used by lazy people who cant be bothered to type, as you put it.

Its an expression signifying attraction , same as a smiley face. In your world would you say smiley faces are sent by people who are too lazy to type ?

Well, a pattern is emerging. Women are often too busy to notice them and so men need to message them.

Women...men's boxes are occasionally visited by tumble and the odd moth , so your winks will stand out and be responded to. Often instantly

So a useful tool for you, but only use it if you are interested

Again your definition of a wink is different to ours, we both agree it should be an expression signifying attraction however it is used by some guys, who have incidentally admitted in the forums at times, that they just send a wink because they get fed up writing long messages of introduction only for them to be deleted, so at times they are used as some can't be assed to type hoping by some quirk of fate they will get a meet with little effort put in

I think the single guys are getting a hard press here. Seems whatever they do they can't seem to win?!

Personally I'd say a wink here same as in reality shows initial interest without being intrusive.

People here either love or hate winks. Comes back to you can't please all of the people all of the time?!
