earlier tonight one of the presenters on Children in Need said, "Pick up your phone and pledge."

I'm still sitting here, with the phone in one hand and a can of furniture polish in the other, wondering what the fuck I'm supposed to do next.

Now i'm not being cold here, but, she may JUST be doing it for the publicity, was that her new single by chance, it'll be the biggest audience she has ever played to, I think her management team have done very well to get her a singing part to that size of public, and yes she is SHITE.

I'm not a fan of vacuous "celebrities" but I don't get the Cheryl bashing. She's taken a little talent a long way and good luck to her. She's an attractive young woman.

Why the venom?!! Seems like jealousy to me!

that's a little out of date. wogan was pulled about it in 2007 and he subsequently waived his fee he hasn't been paid since(it says here)

Do they really pay Terry to host it?

Thats awful, makes you feel like not giving when you hear that.

Especially as soo many peeps do loads of stuff for nothing.

They certainly 'used' to pay Wogan but the BBC insisted it was BBC money and not Children in Need money. No doubt there's some logic to that.

from what i understand, sir terry is paid by the bbc not the charity. he is on contract with the bbc and never understood that part of his overall pay included an element for hosting children in need.

he was now asked for this fee to be waived

Fair point tra-mar..and I concede it was 3 years ago..but..it took him 28 years to waive it!..ok according to the Beeb the money didnt come from the Chairity funds..but thats not the point..its even worse that it came from licence payers money..the same people that donate money, they could have cut out the middle man!

""he never asked for a fee and would quite happily do it for nothing""...so why didnt he give the fee back or...''do it for nothing?''...

Mind you..at least people like wogie...imagine if Russell Brand had hosted it?...

Cant stand the show anyway..its normally the same ol shit every year..it was only livened up by take that and cheryl cole..
