Living alone

Hi

I'm living alone for the first time. Feel lonely at times. Invited friends family over but so far had no visitors. Trying to be positive and see the overall benefits.

A jar of coffee will last a month

4 loo rolls will last forever

No one will eat my chocolate hob nobs

Do you live alone ? Benefits ?

Or if you don't do you wish you did ?

I live with my teenage son but it wouldn't worry me living on my own.

I love my own company & can get very moody if I don't get time on my own.

No snoring.

Being able to listen to proper music and dad-dance without the sniggers.

Not having to get dressed all day.

Managing a whole week before needing to do any washing up.

I can but dream...

Mr ddc

Ps OP: love your status about going to the pub for a roast, wish our local was so accommodating....

I have lived alone, and after the initial lonleyness I realised that

The house was as clean and tidy when I got back from work as it was when I left,

The freezer is best friend to your bank balance

Dancing naked around the house is liberating

You answer to no one

Yes I do

Some of the benefits are that I don't have anyone to tell me that stuff doesn't match, I can laze about when I want or have what I would like for tea

A bed to yourself is also great at times, but it's also better to share that at times

Solitude is good in small doses. We are sociable creatures, at our best when interacting with others. Sharing experiences, talking, learning, laughing, crying.

Too much solitude can be torture, soul destroying and quite simply, one of the most sad things we can experience.

I live on my own too. Family and friends haven't visited, although I have no furniture so I don't blame them really lol.

I like that I can just walk around naked all the time. Nobody else's mess to clean up. I can sing and nobody cares.

Most of the bad points can be fixed.. Loneliness - go out.

Empty bed - you're on here, I'm sure you can find someone to fill the gap

I've lived alone, on and off, for a few years. I loved it. I'm with people all day and the chance to switch off once I'm home was lovely so much so, I didn't even like people calling round. I've always got things to do so was rarely bored.

OP, I'm sure you'll find your own rhythm once you adjust.

I've lived alone for three years now since bring divorced. I can honestly say these have been the best days of my life (except for my children of course). I relish my independence and enjoy quiet times. I get out more, laugh more and suit myself what I do and with whom. My naughty life here fills another need quite nicely. Best of all, the doofer is mine all mine!!

Somewhere in North Norfolk

I prefer living alone. I get lonely occasionally but not enough to want to share my space. I'm not sure I will ever want to live with anyone else again.

I've lived with two long-term partners, (at different times!), and in several house and flat shares and I've concluded I prefer living alone.

I've gradually learnt more DIY and I've got a good plumber too. Plus he's bloody gorgeous. You might find your friends have unexpected DIY skills too.

I think you'll get used to living on your own and end up liking it. Why not organise a small house warming? Just order a take away and ask everyone to bring a bottle.

I moved out of home and lived on my own in my early 20's and loved it. Really enjoyed the freedom. I'm fairly often on my own now and I do like my own company. I get a bit stir crazy if there are people around all the time. If you can enjoy your own company - it always seems a positive thing to me.

I've lived on my own for almost two and a half years now. Most of the time, I love it! I only have myself to answer to and myself to clean up after, no other people's drama to deal with. I lived in shared houses before and I hated it, living with other people fired up my anxiety.

However... Sometimes I do get desperately, painfully lonely - related to mental health issues - but there's always someone on the other end of the phone. Most of all, though, my own space and peace is worth any of the negatives

I love living alone.

There are hundreds of benefits. I have my place how I want it. I don't consult anyone about anything. I do what I want, when I want and I answer to no-one but me. I have my bed to myself, I choose what I want to eat, I don't have to do someone else's laundry, I have company when I want it, I do the dishes when I feel the urge, I slob around in my pjs whenever I please, I do my housework naked, I clean when I feel like it, I go out when I want to, I stay out all night if the fancy takes me, I holiday alone and suit myself and all of my free time is my own.

I love my life.

Another good point is you can poop in private and have no fella follow you to the toilet or have him going to the bog while you shower. After 4 kids this is a bug bear for me.

pmsl love it

Well, one minute you're having a shower and your fella comes in and starts chatting, which is fine. Next minute you open your eyes and you notice he's sat on the bog...and that only means one thing. "

lmaooo well just remember too open the windy so before ya hit the shower might keep the long at bay

"You can bum round with just your undies on any time you want to.

Make sure curtains are shut though, i was dancing in the kitchen in my panties and realised the curtains were open, and it's a minor road outside my house.

I'm on the 1st floor surrounding by country side so not a problem

After my post. A fellow fab friend is popping around fingers crossed

Hope they put that clock up for you.

Forgot to ask then to bring the tools

Lol, never mind then. Or maybe they see this post and will bring some themselves yay.

I did work out that if I left my bathroom door open whilst on the loo I could watch the TV in the lounge lol.

"Hi

I'm living alone for the first time. Feel lonely at times. Invited friends family over but so far had no visitors. Trying to be positive and see the overall benefits.

A jar of coffee will last a month

4 loo rolls will last forever

No one will eat my chocolate hob nobs

Do you live alone ? Benefits ?

Or if you don't do you wish you did ?"

It's just me and my son. I love it! I hardly get bored of my own company when here alone.

Manchester

I live on my own

Had a lodger once who annoyed me very quickly by leaving things everywhere. Especially with empty food containers next to the bin but not in it.

I love not having anyone around so I can do what I want, whether that's choosing what's on TV, lounging about not wearing much or playing music without needing to keep the volume down.

I live in residentially and it never feels like I'm on my own until I shut my door and climb into bed alone....that bit sucks

Central

It's great for me as I can saunter about at any time, no disturbance to or from anybody.

And no ones in my way. I like my own company and when friends are over, there's no lack of space or restrictions.

I've lived with others but I largely prefer having all of my space for me me me.

i love my own company - living alone you get the best of both worlds either to have folk round - go out or stay alone - i love it best when kids not about as the house stays as i left it
