Fab in a conversation

Since on here I have noticed the word "fab" crops up alot in conversation. Or I hear people reply fab if their happy about something. I think to myself are they members and it's fresh in the memory or maybe it's just fresh in mine.... Thoughts please

You're probably overthinking it, fab is such a commonly used word. The majority of folk will use it completely innocuously.

Loads of people at my old employer used it regularly.

They're about as likely to be swingers as I am to be the next pope.

It's just a word - but I get where you're coming from as it does flick a switch for a brief moment when anyone says it.

I had a reply to work related e-mail last week that was signed off, Fab. We'd had a chatty, somewhat flirty call earlier that day so it did make me wonder.
