I need to get back on plan!!! The plan is now "extra easy" where you divide your plate into 3rds of protein, carbs & then free fruit &/or veg.

It might be worth buying mag as it normally has a quick start 7 day plan you can follow. Good luck!!!

Four and a half stone down and love being Extra Easy

Most fresh meat, fish, fruit and veg is syn free

Some are "speed" foods which fill you up and help loss

Save your syns for the fun stuff

Get the mag, then join ..but its not a diet !

Its a lifestyle, just like swinging

Just do it the old way if you aren't going to join. I did back in September thats how I lost the main of my weight, most of these clubs only rebrand their diet every couple of years so everyone has to buy new books, scales, calculators, etc etc..

They are grim and very expensive! I used to make batches of chilli/bolognaise mince on a Sunday then freeze it in portions. Or meatballs. Stuff like that. Easy in the week to grab something out in the morning before work then it's waiting when you get home cuz I can't be bothered cooking then x

That's called willpower!

If you don't have the need & drive to lose weight i wouldn't think following the SW rules is going to help you.

People I know on it at the moment eat a lot of salads / Mug Shots / BabyBels / Muller Lites. also try the crustless quiche, shepherds pie & chilli recipes which you can google, they seem to be good for family meals too.

slimming world worked for me but I think you need to be quite active as well to see real results

when I joined last January I was a size 24 and over 20 stone, I lost 7 stone 1 pound by august but then I just lost the plot, nothing to do with the plan I just started eating things I knew I shouldn't and by Christmas I had gained 3 stone

I went back after Christmas and since re joining I have lost nearly 5 stone, I weight tonight and if i loose 1 and a half pound I'll get my 5 stone award so that will actually be 9 stone 1 pound since my first starting weight last years

the hard part is not loosing motivation once you have lost and start feeling good about yourself I don't find the dieting hard its the keeping it off I struggle with

plus on slimming world you realy can eat way to much for your brain to accept as an amount to eat on a diet so a lot tend to cut food out and that's when problems start because your getting hungry between meals and snacking

if it's on plan and says you can eat it, eat it

just to add I also think its wrong for people to comment on those who follow plan just because they are not obese, some people may be slim but struggle to stay slim and need a little help and saying things like....oh as if you need to diet isn't really helpful for them

Yes the thing called WILLPOWER comes and goes. I need some structure, discipline, help if you like to stick to it. That's why I want to follow SW or WW

During the week is the best time for me to have a structure, regime, what ever you want to call it. It's weekends that I go wrong.. However I might have one cheat day over the weekend.

I like to make and plan my meals through the week if I can.

I find the slow cooker is my best friend

what I struggle with is not picking when I get in from work, im starving as I often don't eating anything from when I get up till about 9pm when I get home I could eat a scabby horse and come back for the jockey

so if my dinner isn't ready when I get home I just stand snacking on biscuits etc while my dinners cooking, the slow cooker is a God send for this, I put it in in the morning before work and I have a meal ready to eat straight away when I get home

You don't eat anything all day, until 9pm surely that's not good for you is it? I'd be starving and get very cranky.

I started slimming world january 2012.. Never could get my head round red n green days so just stuck with Extra Easy plan. It worked for me where i lost over 9 stone. Ive put around a stone back on at the minute and boy can i feel it. I feel disgusting.

Im trying to get back on it properly but it is very hard once you have fallen off. They have changed the plan and replaced the red n green with a SP plan ( speed and protein) which i cannot manage. Most of my days i have banana, grapes, yoghurt, potato, pasta, rice..which are all free foods... But on SP you cant have any of those!!

The best advice is to Plan. There are also loads of groups on FB that offer loads of advice and recipes.

I'm just speaking from past experience that's all. Sometimes these plans actually contribute to more weight gain when you come off them, making you heavier then when you first started.

The viscious circle of diet plans.

Ive never done WW.

However i understand that on ww you get so many points... Where on sw you get syns. Also the ww meals are tiny and around 6 points(or more) where sw ones are double the size and free?

Are potatoes also points on ww where they are free on sw? The more free things you eat... The more of your 15 syns you get to use on the things you do enjoy...may it be a glass of wine, chocolate or so on.
