So, we're off for the sun next week and only taking hand luggage ...

Which means we can only take 100ml liquids.

Looking at Boots online a lot of travel essentials are more than this

Probably can get a lot more in store ?

Can you recommend any travel size shampoos/ sun creams etc.

And where to get them ?

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Both Boots and Superdrug do mini versions of toiletries. I use Tresemme and Dove.

Superdrug do loads of travel sized stuff as does Savers. The other option is to buy 100ml bottles and fill them up

Brighton - even Hove!

Asda do small travel versions plus these thru containers suitable for flights.

Remember you're only allowed 1 1litre capacity bag each through security. I bring the expensive essentials (perfume, make up, moisturiser) and buy the cheap essentials airside.

You're allowed larger amounts if you're checking your bag in.

We're off to Portugal, but are the prices comparable to UK ?

You can probably tell it's been a while since I last traveled without a woman to tell me what to do

Depending on who you're flying with, upgrading to hold luggage will probably be cheaper than buying all the necessities again.

Bit of a pain, get some 100ml bottles and decant your stuff into them.

If you are having hold luggage it doesn't matter about size of the bottle, only in carry on.

You don't need to buy travel size.

Just buy a pack or two of empty bottles from somewhere like the £1 shop and put what you normally use in them.

You can also pack aerosols in the hold luggage in normal sizes (I think) so you can take your normal hairspray etc.

Great idea.

In that case - the bottles plus Asda do an offer for loads of travel size stuff - cheaper than other supermarkets or Wilkos.

You can, they count as liquids and have to be 100ml too, and go in the plastic bag

I was surprised you can take nail scissors, with a rounded point, and also disposable razors too
