I just realised that my alma mater has a picture of me which has been used on a social network to which I subscribe and to which I posted the picture.

Does this mean I get to use meamingless phrases such as "including but not limited to", "subject to legal ramifications" and "I hereby"?

Or is the posting of information on a public website and then writing hilarious pseudo legalese cap to try and make people think you have control over that information an exercise in ignorance and futility?

"I have to consult with my mate Sid."

Sid seems to be an authority on the subject.

Write to them and request they remove it.

As a rule, if you don't want an image copied and used elsewhere, it's best to watermark a copyright onto it. If it's then used by anyone in the UK for commercial gain or business related purposes without your consent, you can refer them to the IPO.

They are welcome to it.

I may be being mischievous here.

He's in the loo at the moment, putting someone right about which year Boon started on telly and exactly when it jumped the shark.

A university I didn't even go to had a photo of me stuffing my face with Danish pastry at a breakfast talk with Alistair Campbell on their website for ages.

Unless it's watermarked, in which case the Berne Agreement still applies (and trumps fb terms).

... or is it the WIPO Madrid Agreement?... possibly both. I can't recall off the top of my head right now (I'm feeling distracted).

It would depend on which site you up loaded it to and the conditions you agreed to at that point.
