Cynical SNP........

The SNP in Scottish Parliament amended the hunting bill so that "multiple" dogs can flush out a fox to be shot by farmers.

The UK government (Tories) wish to bring English/Welsh law into line...so agreeing with the SNP.

But Sturgeon....who isn't even a UK MP. Has said that SNP will vote against it.......thank god they don't actually hold the balance of power!

Political madness?

Opinions? (Not on fox hunting.... But on wee Jimmie Krankie and her SNP buddies)

Wish we could have the SNP here in England, they are the only party with anything resembling principles.

And if you don't like their principles, they have plenty different ones for you to consider.

Just heard now that the amendment vote has been dropped. The sooner we get an "English votes ONLY for English laws" the better....... Tail wagging the dog here!

Shame the independence vote was a no!

I read Scotland are in the process of outright banning it and the SNP are voting to bring it in line with their amended laws.

There isn't much here to get your knickers in a twist about in my eyes.

The SNP government actually passed exactly the same amendment a few years back to allow multiple dogs to flush out foxes so farmers could shoot them

The cynicism is that they voted FOR it in Scitland but wish to vote AGAINST it in England and Wales for pure political point scoring.

Again God help us if we had ended up with them holding balance of power with Millibrain!

He would still be here if could have formed a coalition with SNP...... But very clear who would be calling the shots.....we had a lucky escape (that somehow sounds wrong that Tories were a lucky escape....but sure you will know what I mean!)

possibly but thats politics..

in some ways speaking personally i see the SNP as being more left of centre than Labour which on some issue's i would welcome..

the Tory victory was in some ways 'lucky' and certainly not expected by them and most people, just how lucky some within this society will be after 5 years is another thread..

Flagrante

Personally think that the unexpected Tory majority had a lot to do with the fear of an SNP/Labour coalition running the country. I agree with the previous poster that the sooner we get English votes for English laws the better...and the fairer.

So when does the farmer get the chance to shoot the fox, When it is surrounded by multiple hounds, that are tearing it to pieces !!! A few hundred years ago, These rich noble folk, would chase us local peasants for sport.

.

The act came in 2002 in Scotland, the snp didn't even hold power in the devolved parliament until 2007, as far as I was aware they've never voted for packs of hounds, they always had that right from the get go, it was the English that voted for only two hounds! Cameron wanted to amend English law to be level with Scottish law and the snp actually did they will look to amended Scottish law to English law instead.

If you check on the voting you will find that all bar a handful of the SNP voted for the amendment in 2002.

My father in law who hates the Tories told me he'd voted Conservative because (quote) "I don't want those fucking Scots fucking it up". I think the SNP have underestimated the damage they have done in terms of anti Scottish feeling in some quarters where there was none before.

A lot of people also of course voted Conservative because they agreed with the policies, but there's no denying an anti-SNP factor came into play too.

But you made it sound like it was the snp that introduced the legislation and amended it differently to the English law..

They didn't, the Scottish parliament did there own legislation and they agreed to flushing with a pack of dogs, this was considered cruel by Westminster and they instead went for only two dogs being allowed for flushing.

The snp are now actually looking to amend Scottish law to English law by only allowing two dogs for flushing
