I will be. To kill a Mockingbird is my favourite book. Let's hope it lives up to expectations.

I'm a bit unsure about the whole thing, a couple of articles I've read have suggested she may not have wanted it published.

She did write this first. It was written in draft form (which is why I don't think I will bother reading it). Her editor did not like it and suggested she rewrite it using the flashbacks as the main story (hence To Kill A Mockingbird).

I'm intrigued to read it but I worry it'll lessen the impact of the TKAMB tbh

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I will read it. The thought of Atticus Finch being a racist doesn't sit well but then it begs the question of what happened to change him when she wrote To Kill A Mockingbird after To Set A Watchman? It must change how one reads To Kill A Mockingbird.

She did. That's my point.

The R4 Front Row discussion of the book made the interesting point that Atticus was always racist but he was also a lawyer with a commitment and belief in the law. He defended Tom Robinson because that is what the law requires.

They also discussed that there is a rumour of notes of a third novel.
