This is going to sound really naive, but, what does 'amp' mean? I see it used a lot on here and still can't work it out

Why don't people replace it with something that makes sense if they see that it has come out as 'gobbledy goock'??

if you write a profile out in a text doc, and copy and paste it into your fab profile (or copy and paste text into your status) the site software gets confused with the ampersand '&' - and displays it as amp instead.
