Travelling down from near Birmingham for a meeting in central London tomorrow. Intending on driving for expense purposes and leaving car at Stanmore to jump on train/tube.

Anyone have any areas with good motorway links which they would suggest are better? Thanks

Skype? It's a meeting so not sure why you are suggesting this.

There are plenty of places on the outskirts which are the more cost efficient way of travelling there. Stanmore is just one I am aware of I was just trying to ascertain whether anyone had any better location suggestions

You may have problems parking at Stanmore? A better option could be to cone in the train from somewhere like Watford depending where your meeting is and which route you are driving

Milton Keynes

Don't get fooled into coming off the M1 at juct 5, as many do, stay on till jct 4, Stanmore station is 5mins.

Personally, i would go to Wealdstone, you can get a fast train from Harrow & Wealdstone to Euston in 12 mins, car park around the corner.

Good luck.

You can't do video conferencing? There was a reason for its invention!

Catthorpe

We travel from the same direction too and always do M6/M1 to Edgware tube station parking on Sainsburys carpark right next to the station at a bargain £3 all day. We travel often and find this to be the quickest and cheapest route in via car and underground.

Watfords not a bad shout however if you fancy driving into London and the North Circular is not rammed with Traffic you can always park at Finchley and get the Northern Line into town.

Thanks for this, I have gone with what I know and booked a space at Stanmore but just checked out Edgeware and its a very similar location but with much cheaper parking facilities. Will use this next time, thanks

Newcastle

You can drive a fair way into London from any direction and park free near train/overground or underground...Barnett is a good example [not far off m25]. as there are loads of nice suburban streets and, as long as you park sensibly, you can park for days on end and catch train in speedily.

Good luck

Newbury / London

In days gone by, before we moved south and I had to use the car - I parked at Hillingdon, always spaces as easy enough into London on the Metropolitan line.
