We've got Halloween to go first but the day after that all traces will be honest in stores and replaced by Christmas stuff.

Email them back about their funeral arrangements, since they're so keen on planning ahead.

Haha well I suppose some companies have to budget and probably get a good deal paying so far in advance

No one at my work ever organises it early enough which is why we end up doing something like going for a Chinese at 4pm on a Tuesday. If there's someone else prepared to organise it, embrace it!

It's something that has been organised as a works party but as an event taking place and they want £62 off us for the pleasure

We have THREE Christmas parties.

One is just our team, one our department and one with the whole company.

Shit gets expensive.

OP, I drove through your part of the world not long ago and was surprised to see a banner on a restaurant advertising their Christmas deals. In May.

I went to 3 last year, I just paid for one a month in the run up and then conveniently managed not to get a round in.

I'm ill when my work Christmas party rolls round, not sure I could pull it off three times.

To be fair I probably only pay for around 1.5 because the Corporate Directors and CEX don't mind sticking their hands in their pockets.

It's known that most venues that host corporate Xmas parties will be in the planning stage in January, I used to work for a company that would leave booking a table till the beginning of December, and would always struggle to find some where cause everywhere or mostly everywhere have been booked a few months in advance, last year we booked ours at a hotel restaurant mid September, and lucky we did, wasn't much room left, next month I'll be thinking about the Xmas gift shopping, always like to have December as stress free as possible
