So I decide to go buy a telescope today.

Been sat out in the dark using it since 11pm......it's amazing at how populated the sky is.

I certainly believe we're not alone in this universe

If you put Google Sky Map on your phone, or Stellarium on your pc you can see which are stars and planets.

Brighton - even Hove!

There's a planet to the west early evening and think it's Venus. A couple of weeks ago Jupiter was next to it. If you look at the moon, bottom right hand corner but towards the upper left middle of that quadrant, you can see the sea of tranquility where Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon.

I was staying in the countryside a few weeks ago.. had low light pollution and I was amazed at how many stars and how clear the moon looked.

Amazing.

Your impulse buy seems so much more educational and interesting than the inflatable sofa I bought at 4am off the shopping channel.

I may have been a bit tipsy.

I bought an SDS drill a couple of days ago. Two days later i was cutting up a stone fireplace with it. A great toy that will be used for the rest of today. My better half noted how my face lit up like a bairn in a toy shop

You should go to one of the National parks and enjoy the dark skies project

My nephew and his partner came to stay for a couple of weeks. We took them up into the hills where it was pitch black, sheep on the road and camp fires in the distance.

She was terrified. She had never seen darkness because of the Thamesmead ambient light. Such a shame

Cool purchase!

Will also come in handy at any pirate themed fancy dress parties in the future!

I bought some leather trousers and I don't think I'll ever wear them. Not in this weather anyway.

We live on the Pennines so can easily get quite high up with next to no light pollution

Absolutely loving it, what seems empty to the eye is bustling with activity through the scope

if your lucky you have a strong shed if not get hold of a free concrete garage and build a shed out of it like i did

the metal lathe has 2 uses can be used for metal or wood

other advice go through all the sale adverts as you can pick them up for next to nothing

one other thing dont get caught sneaking in the man cave
