the government announced they are going to give £60,000,000 to Pakistan. We have troops maimed & dying through lack of proper equipment, servicemen living on the streets with pathetic MOD pensions, people being denied life saving drugs & a HUGE national debt; Yet we donate millions...that we dont have to other countrie......s before helping our own!!!

They're trying to butter the Pakistan gvt up so they stop turning a blind eye to the Taliban, AQ etc operating in their country and start letting us/ISAF/ANA into the badlands on the Pakistan/Afghan border to route out the bad guys.

Er, yeah, good luck. Like that's ever going to happen

The most recent UK to Pakistan aid figure I can find is for 2009-2010 and the amount is £140.4 million.
