Ooh, I could harp on for hours ....

Spending whole days out from dawn to dusk playing across the fields..

Football on the playing field, jumpers for goalposts, playing until it was too dark to see..

Mojo chews, 4 for 1p...

Rice pudding with jam in as dessert in school dinners

Captain Caaaavvveeeman!

Finding discarded porn mags in the hedges - learnt a lot more about human anatomy that way than in any school lesson

Just for starters..

i miss the freedom of going out for the whole day - packet of butties - bottle of juice and a bundle of mates - being able to dump the bikes unlocked anywhere in the park - go off for a couple of hours and still be there when we got back - my kids missed all that too

I loved school. It was dead easy, finished at 3:30 and I sat with my friends all day.

I remember, just, when I was at primary school, we used to get eight weeks holidays in the summer.....that would be over 50 years ago.....eeek lol

Now schools only work a six week term before having a holiday and six weeks off in the summer

derby

The excitement of trying new things one Of those times was being out with my dad fishing, discovering different tackle in the fishing basket, catching minnows, gudgeon, and small roach in the river, Before catching bigger fish with different tackle but that was over some 20 years of fishing, and seeing all the different sights and sounds when out, a Simple pleasure but one I will never forget.

The lemonade van.

Wearing my mums high heels which were way too big for me and clip clopping down the garden path in them.

Roller skating and blowing bubbles with bubble gum at the same time.

Drawing hopscotch on the pavement with stones.

Sitting in trees with boys.

Spinning round and round and round until I went dizzy then trying to walk in a straight line.

Take me back there.

10p mixes

Kick the Can

Red Rover

The cream at the top of the milk bottle, if the birds hadn't got to it first.

Collecting pop bottles, 10p returns.

Having to come in when the street- lights came on.

Washing cars and cutting grass "cos I was gonna be a millionaire "

Victor and Beano.

And laying awake at night wondering if that girl was thinking about me.
