It depends on time available for me, no point driving for two hours there and two back for a quickie, at least want time for a cuppa afterwards

I guess everyone will have their own interpretation which is fair enough, for me even something around 10 or 15 miles I'd deem local.

I'm in Reading and see Wycombe to the North, Slough to the East, Basingstoke to the South and Newbury to the West as my 'boundary' of being 'local'.

I know some others, particularly in the big urban areas / cities might see 2 miles or even less as local to them..

Hereabouts

I suppose it depends where in the country you are.. If you're in the middle of nowhere and the nearest shop is like 5 miles away.. Then I'd say 20 miles is pretty local. If you're in the middle of a city then within a few miles (depending on how big the city is) is local

she can't be bothered to travel 10 miles, I would say no loss there! Either a time waster or is shagging half the neighbourhood!

I live in rural mid Wales, the nearest large towns are all about 50 miles away, but even people within this circle wont travel. Easy excuse in some cases. And then anyone a bit closer wont meet because it's too close, so cant bloody win

I travel from Sheffield to Lincoln to meet someone, she is well worth it, I would class local as about 5 mile radius around Sheffield.

Does she drive though

Local to somebody who does not drive isnt the same to those who do

I don't drive and I wouldn't class 10 miles as local and further than I would go for a first meet

I would make more of an effort for somebody I had met before

know it well, I'm born n bred from that area. Its nothing to travel. Her loss, but as I say, possibly is an easy excuse.

She's driving to you? Ah ok that makes more sense, she might not want to make a 30 min drive out for a meet (and another 30 back afterwards) when she's probably got loads of men right on her doorstep, whereas if you were driving to her I can't really see their problem if you're prepared to do the travelling ...

thats 10 or 15 mins max in the car in clear traffic. I cant see how that is a big effort personally.

Not everybody is willing to do the same

As a single woman she will get guys a lot closer mailing her, maybe she feels when she's got guys within a mile mailing 10 miles is to far

Who knows

It's her choice

Met a couple in North Wales last year, They were roughly 15 miles from Llandudno Junction. Turns out it took us about 45 mins to get there going Betws-y-Coed area driving through mountains and country side. Meet was worse ever, so totally understand what they mean when they say 50 miles is too far to drive there.

It may be her way of saying not interested, some people don`t feel they can just say that, she is sparing your feeling, bless her.

Within an hours driving is local to me, half an hour would be better, but I have regularly driven four hours for a long weekend.

I tried that with someone in Coventry once. They immediately replied they were moving to my area!

So I said thanks, but still no thanks - and got called a fat teasing slut or some such. That's when I stopped replying to people I was not interested in.

Haven`t been there for about 10 years, my son moved to Bromley, so no reason now, always remeber the Reggae shop near the train station, you could hear dub all along Rye Lane, used to love that.

This site measures distance as the crow fries so 10 miles on here could be 20 miles by road. I'd say 5 miles on here would be classed as a more realistic localish
