For the few cricket enthusiasts on here.

As you know, it all starts on Wednesday. Do you think England can regain the ashes?

Yes, 5-0.

Fuck you, Glenn McGrath!

Canterbury

No

I don't think it will be a whitewash but I think the Australians are simply a class above any test playing nation in the world at the moment.

3-1 to the Aussies, I think their top order have got too many runs in them compared to ours. We'll be continually under scoreboard pressure

Look, the wouldn't beat a Yorkshire/Durham side, so all we need to do is get a few more Yorkies in. Bresnan and Bairstow as batters, play Adil, Ballance will be alright with Rooty and Lyth at the other end. Brooks, Patterson and Sidebottom to bolster the bowling and Onions in reserve. Job done.

I have a feeling that we will be ok for runs but the bowling looks a little thin. I think both Anderson and board have seen their best days and we are lacking the genuine pace to worry the Aussies. Rashid is a better bowler than Ali but I think Ali will play because of his batting.

2-2 drawn series.

I'm not able to get to Cardiff next week because there aren't any rooms to be had for less than £200 a night

There's a women's ashes too. Final game is at the Worcestershire Ground. If anyone's going i'd recommend one of the Premier Inns, as it is really new and lovely, it directly backs onto the cricket ground and is right near the city centre.

I cannot see Australia losing.

Englands mentality wont change over night.

Yes we can beat anyone on our day.

I Think we have the bowling to match Australia given what I saw in the Nz games recently.

We need to bat better though and gel as a team.

It has in the shorter forms. Not sure our captain will though. Hmm, maybe we should recall collingwood or pick Andrew gale.

Sad to see Ryan Harris announce his retirement, a wonderful player who might have been considered one of the very best had his career not been blighted by injury. Will be a big loss for the Aussies but they look pretty strong in the bowling department right now.
