I suspect it's mostly to do that women have traditionally been taught that they should take a submissive role in society generally.

We're highly in demand so have gone into hiding.

Depends what you mean by dominant, if you mean in a sexual way not sure of the answer, it depends on my mood & how I am feeling as to whether I am dominant or submissive.

But in day to day life I think most women are dominant these days because they have to be:

self sufficient, decision makers and organisers in day to day life.
