Yep, and yummy it is too. Just using up ingredients rather than going out and buying fresh food just for the sake of it.

Well, so long as there's a plentiful supply of ice cold Cobra beers to go with it - I'm in !

We had a short, sharp burst of rain yesterday evening - I love the smell of rain on hot Tarmac / concrete - up there with cut grass and sea air in terms of my favourite smells

I break out in fits of horror at the smell of cut grass. It means an imminent and traumatic hayfever attack. Grass pollen is the bain of my existence

Derbyshire

Never too early on a day like today, cooking before the day gets too hot, with plenty of time for it to cool before dinner-time.

Ginger n orange trifle already in fridge, Bolognese sauce cooling ready for wraps, and just finishing the veg for the pasta salad.

(After the debacle a few weeks ago that saw me having to use our glut of radishes as turnips in a stew and water-chestnuts in a stir-fry, now I have veg everywhere!

I'm afraid you'll all have to help yourself. I've got to pop out to Ludlow now for work.

The key is under the rose bush tub, no going through the wife's knocker draws, there are booby traps

And no rooting round trying to find my secret Haribo stash or there'll be trouble.

It's been ready to go for hours. The slow cooking is just tenderising the meat and developing flavour even more
