I started back at the gym, walked here there and everywhere in a hurry today, and had a chicken salad for tea. I had lost 3st 13lb, but weight has crept back up, so over all 3 stone 5 off so far. Giving myself 10 weeks to loose the next 23lb.

see I hate the gym, I never stick with it, I do exercise, I ride my bike around 30 miles a day and I go jogging with the dogs daily as I enjoy both so both keep me motivated

it just suprised me how everybody who decided to loose weight or get fit join the gym when there are so many other options out there

surely they can't all enjoy it?

No, they don't. But everyone is different. I can't run (dodgy knees), don't have a bike or dogs, and need to be shouted at to get moving. So paying someone else to shout is the best solution for me.

I'm much prefer to run or cycle outside particularly at this time of year. The gym is a necessary evil fir core work and interval training. I do enjoy it it's just that there are other things I'd rather do

Glad to hear people enjoy the gym. I haven't joined one but probably will when the weather changes in the winter months. I have been a member at a gym before and do enjoy it but it's the getting motivated to actually go that's my problem. Wish there was one really close! Part of the thing I like about jogging in the park is that I can just stumble home and jump in the shower!

I seem to have hit a brick wall, with weight loss for the past 3 weeks. It's disheartened me slightly. Exercise is going great - cycling, cardio, weights , boxicise. I've just added swimming in, as maybe I need a change exercise wise. Still doing high protein, low carbs and hoping that If I plan all my meals this week it will kick start the weight loss again.

I've managed to put on 1.5 stone in around 6 months. None of it is muscle (the majority being belly fat) but as someone who has always been very slim and never been able to bulk I'm actually rather pleased.

I'm going to carry on eating pork pies for around another 0.5 stone and then hit the weights/protein shakes. The little intense physical exertion I've done in the last 10 years (mainly things like moving house)made me look toned for days so I imagine my body will react well to it all.

Next summer I'll either have a dad bod or be taking shape nicely. Going by how much discipline I have it will most likely be the former.

No it's not! Had to remind myself why I'm doing this the other week when a thing from a few years ago came up on timehop saying I'd lost 1.5 stone in 5 weeks on slimming world. It's taken me almost three months to lose this by just eating a healthy balanced diet and exercising like mad. But I feel so much better in myself for doing it this way. I'm more active now than I ever have been!

I think it's a better way to lose weight the way you are now as opposed to SW/WW.

Having done both over the last 20 years or so I've lost more weight by eating healthily, cutting out the crap & exercising more.

It comes off quickly with those programmes but I find over time it's hard to maintain and I end up not only putting the weight I lost back but more.

Well done with the 5k, you'll be running it all very soon I'm sure.

hard work, but the main factor was I just didn't want to be fat anymore. I will still be plump after another stone but if I then lose another 10lb I will be height weight proportionate for the first time in my life, but I don't want to look gaunt so will see what I look like after another stone.

There is a down side though as at the moment I am suffering with slight body dysmorphia, I look a lot bigger than I am to myself I think I'm still about 4 stone heavier than I am but apparently it takes awhile for your brain to catch up.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure what we see in the mirror is never what others see either. Well done you, I need to pull my finger out again with that whole diet/exercise malarkey. Good luck with the last part, sometimes that's the toughest but to lose but you've done amazingly well so far so don't give yourself grief about the target. You'll get there. Well impressed.

well done, so you've lost 2stone, not sure how much you want to lose but that's a big chunk of weight.

Quite a lot, on paper I probably would need to lose what you have but I'd be happy with losing another 6 or 7 I think. Every bit I lose feels good though and I'm really enjoying running, cycling and all the other activities I'm doing

I did Race The train in Wales on Saturday. Longest race I've done since Brighton Marathon, slightly longer tgan a half and one of the toughest races I've ever done.

Hampered by stomach problems, not sure which I was happier to see, the steam train or a portaloo at 6 miles!

Next stop Farnham Pilgrim Marathon, one of the toughest events in the south east, it's going to hurt!

Well after the scales not moving for 4 weeks, I've now lost another 4lb this week.

14s are all fitting me lovely apart from two denim skirts that hang of me so it seems I'm a size 12 in denim, size 14 tops are very loose and have one size 12.

So 11lb to go to target and would be nice to be in a comfortable 12 in everything but will see what I settle at.

Total weight loss to date 10 stone 10lb exactly the same amount as I actually weigh now

Really struggled at parkrun this morning and have no idea how I'm going to manage a 10k next weekend let alone 3 in the next 4 weeks!!!

My ankles really hurt....not the joints but the muscles on the outside and up my legs. My arches also ache now so I'm wondering if I need more support in my trainers. Will go to my local running shop and get it checked.

Read his post - he is referring to the OHP machine - the pulleys etc on those things mean that the weight on the stack never translates to the actual weight you are pressing.

I'd doubt him too if he was talking about a bar and 7 plates..

Thats just about my squat 1RM...

I originally wanted to lose it by Oct 23rd but that's not going to happen, so will aim for Xmas. The problem is, with all the travelling and staying in hotels I do now, I don't have chance to get to a gym as much. And eating out reduces my chances of being sensible.

Having said that, I've lost just over two stone since last Xmas, so not too bad at all. (Though not quite as amazing as Diamonds loss )

This one is 6 hours and run as far as many 6 mile laps as possible. I'll aim for 30 miles but thankfully will get the medal even if I only do one!

Things have skipped slightly with the running (although have done 3 10k's in a month and another in a couple of weeks!). I have signed up to do some cross country league with the club though and I have big plans for next year so need to get my arse in gear!

Have joined SW and lost 8 lb in 4 weeks which averages out at 2lb a week so am happy with that (not looking forward to weigh in tonight though thanks to lack of will power and organising a macmillan morning!!)

Still got 6lb to go to my personal target, bloody hard to shift this last little bit, but in the last couple of weeks everything I've bought or tried on is now a size 12 and I'm actually daring to take size 12s in the changing room I'm really hoping to lose it by the end of October as I have a medical then and it means I will have been on my weight loss programme exactly two years, oh how my life has changed

well done Evie, my friend has rejoined and I see they have changed the plan again. It really is such a good diet, even though I don't do it anymore
