"im thinking of getting one quite soon. im still looking at designs, but was just wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how much id be looking to pay for one? i know it would be impossible to say exactly, but im just thinking a round about figure. i know it will be expensive, but dont know HOW expensive " The best advice is to find a local tattooist who is recommend by people you know or friends of friends at worst. Look at some of his work, check out his premises. Then spend some time on the design you want. In reality your going to have the ink work for the rest of your life so cost should be one of the smaller considerations if your going to have it done.

Tattooist can be found on many street corners these days so research the tatooist, good tattooists usually charge by the hour ranging from about £50-£80 per hour

"By the time you reach 80 your arm will look like gangrene has set in...think hard before you have one done. would anyone have a full sleeve on a whim? " Perhaps not on a whim, but most people don't think about the concequences of todays actions in 10 or 20 years time! Find someone who had a colourful tattoo 20 years ago and take a look, colours leech into each other and gradually they turn black. A friend of ours had a beautiful Celtic design in the small of her back. It was crisp and clear... Now 7 years later, it is starting to look "Blurred" and because of the fine design, she has been told it will look like a backy/blue blob in ten years. And to spend over £2000 having both arms done... Defies belief! But each to their own.

" i have a colourful tattoo 7years old this 17th of november and to be honest its like a few months old, maybe your mate went to a crap artist who puts the ink in to deep or not deep enough and the type of ink used aswell can make or break a good tattoo

"By the time you reach 80 your arm will look like gangrene has set in...think hard before you have one done. would anyone have a full sleeve on a whim? " Possibly, possibly not…its down to the reason people want them…I know a few guys who have had, half sleeves, maori tribal marking etc done, when I asked them why they have shrugged their shoulders and said ‘dunno really’… To have it done because its fashionable at the moment is madness IMHO because tomorrow, next week next year…they might not be. David Beckham and other high profile faces really instigated a lot of this…now people are copying them…its called ‘fashion’… I asked one lad, are you a Maori warrior then?...he said…’whats that?!!!!...so he has had it done, and doesn’t even know why OR what it is.. They use the excuse, because I want to look different…different to who?...all their other mates who have the same???? As for a line of stars below the earole…what the fuck is that all about? Still each to their own…I just get the impression that a lot of people don’t think it through enough first.
