Was told by a customer I could take the day off tomorrow. My boss has said no.

I thought the customer was always right?

Haha no, I've worked with the public for many years in a variety of different roles and I can say with 100% certainty that the customer is in fact very rarely right!

The customer's never right but seeing as they pay the wages...........exceptions have to be made

Is the customer always right?

Only if they take their custom elsewhere.

Nope, they're still wrong even then, it just makes them feel like they're right

No but the trick is to make them feel right.

No the customer is sometimes a complete bell end

Mrsdpt is a bar manager. Customer orders a chilli chicken wrap....customer then finished the meal and wants a full refund because it was too spicy

*facepalm*

I'm pretty sure this saying was made up by a manager who was too afraid to challenge an employee so instead shunted the blame onto the customer....

Well sod it, he said I could take the day off, would even write me a note.

So tomorrow I'm going to sit in the park with pimms & strawberries while my colleagues sit in a hot stuffy office.

I read "stuffy" as "slutty" then...

I worked in retail for 5 years and believe me it taught me to hate the general public.

You need a thicker skin than mine, people really thought they were buying you, you were there just to rip them off and you were scum.

This, the customer may always be right, but that doesn't give them the right to be a arse. I find its quite enjoyable to make a comment they don't grasp but the next customer does, raises a smile all round
