Nothing much to add except that blocking is a norm of fab, meaning that they're restricting their message/contact - all done for various reasons, mainly because they don't perceive you as a potential match.

Thick skin is needed here for single guys and others.

because the equality act (no such thing as discrimination act) only applies to providing goods and services, and last time i checked sex for fun was not a good or a service. Perhaps if you were to try other types of sites for non free sex there would be no age ranges.

I know I'm blocked because of something I've said in here some I've never had any interaction with whatever, I'm blocked because at least two locals obviously don't want to take the chance of being seen out and about.

I have a large block list - none from the forums but there are a lot of locals who do nothing but spout shite status updates, post gash pics constantly, or keep _iewing 10 times a day when they are never going to get a meet.

It's a tool - use it however you choose.

I understand and lots of users do this - but often at the cost of offensive messages being returned.

I'm going to add a suggestion into the site, to get an automated reply option, for people doing the blocking, such as 'thanks but no thanks'. Obviously not those exact words, preferably each user could select their own.

I think if more people sent a thanks and goodbye message, it would sweeten things a lot, when rejecting and/or blocking: which will still happen. If you think it's a good idea, look for my suggestion in the forum and add your

- I haven't written it yet, but will do in a few minutes.

We want others to be as happy as they can be but this does mean that many users need to accept that message overload can be a major stress factor for many of us here: it is me at times.

Never fixate your interest on just one other user. Cast your net widely and assume that nothing's in the bag, until you've met and are shagging.

Women get bombarded the moment they join this site and have to put up with guys completely forgetting any form of social decorum. Most don't bother to read the profile just look at the pretty pictures. So they have every right to have preferences and to choose filters to block those they don't want to meet. That way for them the site doesn't feel like a chore and they can speak to those they want to.

I have preferences but anyone can message me unless they are FF or don't have a public photo. My funniest one was a guy who I said "Sorry, you're not my type"to, replied "You're not my type either" & blocked me!! Just thought it was hilarious that he'd sent a long message to someone he wasn't interested in

I asked admin recently if there was a limit to the number of profiles you could block.

The answer was no.

I'm glad. Our list long and grows regularly.

I think they should change the block button. People should have to write an essay of 100 words minimum, detailing the reasons why they are blocking that profile. Admin will re_iew each essay and if the reasons aren't good enough, the block will be removed.

To be fair the site functionality may well be improved by allowing more filters not less

If people could only get messages from the certain age, ethnicity, straight or bi, and even sexual interests that interested them, assuming that's what they wanted, may improve their enjoyment from the site

And if the searcher could exclude people who don't want people of your characteristics etc, it may well remove a lot of the unwanted messages

That analogy makes no sense. If fab were a restaurant, barely would I have got through to door without half the members of staff in the place running over and shoving their favourite thing from the menu in my gob whether I like it or not. Filters and blocks allow me to only let through those who have something I like (I'm very particular about what I put in my mouth

) I can look at the food on the menu, doesn't mean I want to eat it. Just as you can look at those whose preferences exclude you, you just can't order them.

By blocking someone, it stops someone I'm not interested in showing in my updates and searches. Because of this I block those I have no interest in, saving time for me and then if they were to choose to try and contact me.
