On one hand I would say don't bow down to terrorism and go on your holiday, on the other hand I'm not going to Tunisia ever again.

I know what you mean, I wouldn't never go to Paris or London again, so shouldn't stop with my holiday either.

If you pay for flights, hotel, transfers, food, drink and entertainment for me, I'll come with you and be your bodyguard.

You will never go anywhere the UK probably gets thousands of threats every year.

Remember the IRA?

It should be ok.. keep an eye on the Gov website.. your travel agent should let you know anyway if it is unsafe to travel. I'd make sure you had contact details of the Embassy to hand just in case. I'd still go

You may possibly find the agents would swap you over to a different destination if you asked - but never having done that I don't know : )

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

When are you going? Things can settle down quite quickly especially in tourist areas so hopefully everything will be okay xx

Sheffield

Your travel company have no obligation to change anything or refund you unless the foreign office issue a warning not to travel there.

However, try speaking to them and see what.they're saying. If you booked independently then you have no real comeback unless there's an official warning and then you'll be able to claim on your travel insurance.

Awful news...

I think with the way of the world as it is, at the moment, it's wise to avoid Arab countries - Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey...

All you're doing by going, is increasing your risk. Albeit small.

I've been to troubled spots around the globe on holidays and the locals do their best to look after tourists.

If we stayed at home because of every potential problem in countries, we'd never go abroad again.

They'll be fine. Heightened security measures and helpful locals will ensure they have a great time

Your odds of being run over by a bus or half dead motorcycle is way way higher than being decapitated by some [place terror name here].

Yeah this... Plus your about 50,000 times more likely to get skin cancer from your exposure to the powerful sun there than get killed by mad mullahs... And if your willing to risk that!

Thanks all. Positive and negative we all have our opinions and they were all welcome. I will go but avoid busy public places I think.

Turkey isn't an Arab country, strictly speaking, but, there is an established presence of Islam there. The vast majority of the population are Muslim, as well.

Either way, in light of current events, it's not somewhere where I'd want to be going to, at the moment.

Wish you all the best in whatever you decide is right for you.

Off to Egypt on Sunday .... given the tensions and issues in the general area I will probably, even without realising be more cautious. But you can't not travel and I intend on having a glorious time.

Thoughts and prayers to all those touched by today's incidents x
