Torn calf muscle

Has anyone had a torn calf muscle injury or a hamstring injury

My calf muscle on my right leg has torn, its painful and I cannot put any weight on my leg. Went to the hospital and been given anti infammatory tablets and painkillers but it just needs time now for the muscle to reattach itself back on the tendon.

I had to laugh cos in the hospital the doctor asked me to kneel on a chair. Of course ive done this in various swinging clubs and knelt both legs on the chair and pushed my bottom out. Just a natural reflex for me. He said no just your poorly leg knelt on the chair please.

Anyway doc says that i have to keep my leg elevated when im resting which im taking to mean having lots of sex with my legs resting on the guys shoulders

Has anyone else had this kind of injury through playing sport etc. Id like to be able to say that as my body is a lean mean killing machine, all hard muscle, athletic and strong and at the peak of physical fitness and stamina, that I did this injury running up Mount Everest on my lunch break, but sadly I did it crossing the bloody road!!!

If anyone has any tips for me, or exercises I should be doing so that I can actually walk properly (and wear high heels again) can they let me know

Rest rest and more rest.

Avoid putting any weight on the leg at all and use crutches at all times if you have them.

We get lots of "silly" injuries when we least expect them.

I've hurt my back stepping off a pavement, did it again pushing my young son in his pram.

My mates mum dislocated her shoulder walking her dog, when the hound decided to suddenly change direction.

Bet it don't stop you playing

the day something stops me playing is the day i die and even then Ive told Chris to wheel me out to Chams for the last time before I start looking like a zombie.

No I dont need my leg for playing, I can find a position for it

I tore mine in the gym years ago,thought I'd split my sock until the pain kicked in,lol.

Before long it took on the look of a, puffed up, over ripe banana.

Got the anti-inflams and gave it plenty of rest and I.C.E that's ice, compression and elevation.

By the way,that doctor must have had an iron will faced with you in that Gladiator skirt, knelt on a chair with your arse thrust at him.

Sometimes professional etiquette can be a right bitch! R

Lol if only I had put the gladiator skirt on, i might have been given crutches then, as it is ive got to hobble.

He did mention the ICE thing, the ice is putting me off, im such a wuss, shieking at a bit of cold

dont take advice from anybody unless they are a trained profesional e.g physio therapist, sports therapist. if your going to take advice from anybody else they should atleast be in the fitness industry but still then it could make things worse

I can sympathise with you on this as I done this two years back just after the bells at new year whilst in London.

A scotman spending NY day in an english A&E did get a few laughts. I also had to do the kneel on the chair stint altho the doc there squeezed my calf and nearly sent me into orbit.

What was worse tho was that poor tb had to drive home a few days later......6hrs of motorway for someone who doesnt do motorway's was sheer torture for us both. Dont know what hurt the most my calf or my ears from her moans.

Yeah, I'd just called into the gym before driving up to Scarborough for the weekend.

Tore mine on the Leg Press, still managed to drive up there though, just kept my leg stiff and worked the clutch by raising my left hip/arse cheek up and down.

Hobbled around with a stick while I was there.
