The Double Standard

Well after being on here for awhile you pick up on things and people, I've noticed alot that both men and women have a double standard lol its hilarious men want model like women and women want something out of Geordie Shore when neither are anything too scream about, seems to happen more with the ladies would just like to see people's views on it has alot to do with the number of men to women on here I know but does this kind of set people up to fail mainly the person with the false sense of confidence...

I haven't noticed any such prevalence. Besides, if someone wants to meet a person who fits a particular category, what is wrong with that?

We like who we like. Just because someone isn't up to your standards it doesn't mean they won't be up to someone's who is much hotter than you. Personally I don't have standards,I reach my decision based on more than the physical and a few pics. Miserable gits don't stand a chance with me

I dont expect people i meet to be perfect or like a tv show,much prefer real men .There are some male ,female and couple profiles demanding perfection etc and thats their preference .

Fab confidence is nothing like real world confidence. I'm confident that I can have sex with men of all ages,physiques and intellect. I'm confident about that because I have achieved that. Are you having trouble with arranging to meet women on here or is it just a musing?

Na na don't think you got what I mean I'm not talking about meeting at all either... I'm not talking about me im talking in general I mean is it right for someone who is badly out of shape doesn't really look after themselves someone that has a high opinion of themselves to demand such high expectations in a meet when they don't meet them is it just a kind of numbers game?? Just a chain of thought not looking to burn any bridges here lol

I wouldn't want anyone like those from Geordie shore. I like a variety of men. Different shapes and sizes etc. Though if that's what people are into then shouldn't bash their preferences. Some people like model like women. I dint lose sleep over it.

Lol I'm trying to start a serious discussion here not being miserable I haven't been burned either lol just seeing g what people's views are I'd say alot of people wanna ask it just didn't for fear of backlash. I know what your saying 100% we like who we like right but I like Angelina Jolie doesn't mean I'm gonna get to tie her up anytime soon do you get what I mean ??

just because in a way you don't see yourself that way, it doesn't mean that other have to...

all I try to be is the best "me" i can... if that attracts people who you in effect deem to be "out of my league" thats not people looking down, or lowering the standards that you perceive.......

People will have their own tastes and preferences and will look to meet those that fit them.

But it takes two parties to meet - so if someone who is "badly out of shape and doesn't look after themselves" (of either gender!) wants to meet someone physically fit and who looks after themselves - and vice versa - then it's nobody's business but theirs.

There are no 'leagues' to be in or out of. No attractiveness scales. No special sections of the site for the 'fitties', 'the body beautiful' or the 'out of shape'.

There are just profiles.

If people have preferences that others view as unrealistic then the only people with the issue are those making assumptions that they are unrealistic.

Nobody else's choices affect anyone else. It's best to simply leave them to their own devices.

I'd say the op is making quite a sweeping generalisation but I see it as down to individual choice. We're definitely not stereotypical model types and don't intentionally seek them out on our couple or singles profiles. To meet there has to be chemistry and for us it's about personality too. Actually if he did seek out model types he wouldn't have ended up with me

There is so much variety on here, there's someone for everyone. I don't think everyone has a type. Sometimes you can't put your finger on what attracts you to someone, but nonetheless the attraction is there.
