Not for a moment, the law deems them adults capable of making their own decisions, and allowing them that responsibility is a healthy, natural practice in order to help them mature into well integrated members of society.

Sites like this didn't exist when I was their age either (well, if there were any then they weren't as accessible as this), yet I'd certainly have used this place when I was in my late teens had it been viable.

I had a conversation along these lines with a good friend today! When I was young I was a 'wild child', slept around - whatever you want to call it! I often put myself in very dangerous situations by getting hellishly d*unk and having occasional one-night-stands!

My own daughter is nothing like I was - but if she was I would recommend fab to her as a much safer option - particularly the clubs! Xx

I've been on and off the site since I was 18.. I was married at 19.. I'm more mature than a lot of people in their 30's.. I'm now 21, but should I have not been on here when I was 18? I agree that some people aren't mature enough to be on here.. And I don't particularly like people younger than me.. But it's not necessarily the age but the maturity level. Don't tar all young people with the same brush

We're actually doing an interview next week about younger people who swing, when you say "going out have fun"

Do you me going out and getting pissed out of our minds like most people in their early 20s?

We'd much rather be at a swingers club where we can enjoy ourselves in a care free and liberated environment.

We know plenty of younger swingers 19-28 age group but we have also had some amazing nights with people who are above that age bracket - why should age matter as long as everyone is enjoying themselves.

But that's the fun part of being young!! We all remember that taking risks, acting irresponsible and being completely crazy was one of the best parts of our youth! say an 18 year old guy has a fantasy to be very a mature woman, he will find it very hard to find a mature woman at a night club and if he did then maybe the woman would not want to be seen by every one leaving with a young man,

When I was about 18, I was looking at porn on the net, surfing adult sites as you do, and stumbled across swinging. Straight away I was interested.

Joined a site, started meeting couples for 3sums/group fun when I was about 20. Was great fun.

I certainly didn't feel too young to be doing that at all, and it ws definitely what I wanted.

I was a teenager in the seventies and there were very few of us who were still kids at 18. We were at university, college or working and if we got the chance having sex. We were expected to behave like adults in all respects then, why not now?

I think a certain emotional maturity is needed to swing with a partner but to have casual sex as a single person is a bit different in my opinion and that's what most teens on here will be after I guess.....whether the 18 year old men will find it is another matter

I'm with 18-20 all day and I'm comfortable with them being on here. They're having sex, not mostly looking for something other than no strings action and a fair few love groups etc. As good a mix as others. But, we all have preferences with age and otherwise, so it's worth applying filters and editing your profile to state the kind of people you like.

At least there is some vetting available on here,and you choose who you meet, hopefully in a safe environment.

Most teens literally live on the internet so by the time they reach 18 they are a hell of alot more savvy and clued up than probably most of us are.

At 19, I was quite happily living in a menage a trois - both of whom were a good few years older than me.

Were they taking advantage? No, I willingly entered into the relationships and was above the age of consent.

Do I meet younger people now? No, because they do not appeal to me.

When I was 19 the University halls and residences were a hotbed for 'swinging type activities'. My 19 year old girlfriend had lost her virginity at 16 to a 40 year old and had been dating a 28 year old for the previous two years. Another girlfriend suggested an FFM with another lass because we both fancied her. I bottled it

I was not mature enough or developed enough personally to have critically reviewed my belief system at that time and therefore limited the experiences I could have had as a result. In hindsight I wish I could have had conversations like this with older people at that time. I think it could have helped me. That said my vulnerability in late teens and early twenties could have been exploited by the more unscrupulous. I ended up having a bit of counselling to get my head round the conflicts I felt about sex. I had received absolutely no sex education from adults except "don't do it until your married". I just ignored the advice and learned by trial and error until Imgot the counselling help.

There is no doubt the world has moved on since the early eighties, religious beliefs and upbringing are less prevalent, sexualisation happens earlier and differently with the advent of the internet and improved sex education in schools.

So now I've done my thinking out loud, I think they need to make their own decisions and hopefully they'll meet people who can help them explore their sexuality in a healthy way.

I think that maybe your feelings may be coloured by your children.

However I would say that there are some 18/20 year olds as there are some 40/50/60 year olds who should not be on here. I believe suitability for this life is all to do with maturity and how we think rather than our physical age...

I sometimes feel a little protective and think particularly women that young possibly shouldn't be on here. But I know the reason I think that is being completely prejudiced by the fact I know I couldn't have handled it at that age. Not everyone is like me, so I guess more power to them if they're on here at 18/19 and enjoying it. I won't meet anyone that young though!

I used to travel round the country on my own at 17, had one guy try and stop me entering a building i was going into (i wasn't meeting him i was meeting someone else) coz he wanted me to go with him.

Not all people are stupid when young. There's always gonna be dodgy people out there, but the more you experience life and the people in it then the more you're gonna e able to look after yourself and know what kind of situations could arise and how to deal with them.

Hmm. I tend to agree up until the last bit. I'd say women may be more likely to be manipulative to the person they want to meet rather than random other people. And I think on balance there are more men on site who would want to meet a very young woman than women who want to meet very young men (adjusting for overall numbers of each gender) so I'm not sure the very young are more at risk from manipulation by women.

I've fucked an 18 yr old this week. He approached me, seemed nice enough so though yeah i'll go for it. Didn't need to manipulate anything coz he wanted me and approached me.

I have had a fair amount of guys try and manipulate me on here (probably because men approach me rather than women), so i do feel men are more likely to manipulate. They just try and guilt trip me or talk me into things i'm not into, whereas younger guys won't do that they'll accept that if i don't like something then we're not doing it. I do feel there is still some misogyny when it comes to some older guys and that women are there for their pleasure and not their own, although this could apply to any age group i have found on here (and in life overall) older guys tend to be manipulative but i get that they weren't brought up to womens equals.

Lots of interesting responses but in the eyes of the law 18yo's can have sex, so I see no reason they shouldn't be on here.

Whilst I understand the older fraternity will have their concerns I think that's just a generational thing.

Whilst I appreciate some younger users will question why older people are still interested in sex that too is s generational thing.

The younger users are well used to the Internet, whilst the older ones grew up with Swingers Contact mags. I'd bet many of the older users, possibly even the majority on here, didn't really discover swinging until they found it on the Net.

Some older folk will enjoy younger Meets & some younger users will actively seek out older, more experienced swingers. So long as it's all consensual then where's the problem?

Perhaps it's our own anxieties about family being on here, discovering our intimate sides or secrets, or just our preconceived ideas of who should be having sex that's the crux of the issue.

My personal preference is younger, but then I'm open to many different experiences that broaden my appetite & boundaries. I would never question the right of an 18 year old to use this site but (and yes there will be exceptions) I don't think most would have the maturity to cope with it.

That said, I believe the lines between swinging and vanilla activities (e.g 3sums, group sex,) are becoming blurred and some youngsters dabble without giving it a label and without needing a sex site to facilitate it.

I'm young. If I'd known about this site when I was 18 it would have made my life so much easier! I've been into kink pretty much since I started sleeping with people and its always been hard to find like minded people on nights out and stuff. Every woman on here is someones daughter... yet you are happy to meet them? Why would being on a swingers site make them a sex addict? I sense an undertone of guys with a high sex drive getting a high five and a pat on the shoulder, and women being scorned for having the same drives.

Worst one is when you see 21 year olds already divorced with three kids and it's getting more and more common.

They're going to wake up at 40 having never been to college or had a job when the last kid leaves home and think "shit, where did my life go"

My kids are 19, 22, 23 & 27.

Who am I to be judgemental about their sex lives? I encourage them to play safe and consider their partners feelings.

I have always tried to discourage 'bed hopping' but since I started swinging I feel I can't criticise that now. I just hope they keep safe.

I didn't mean that this lifestyle was damaging - I meant that for such a young person to want to be the guest star of countless gangbangs it just reeks of "damaged" to me!

But I don't know the facts - and maybe now young people are sexually evolved as they are exposed to it all the time.

This is a good point. There are plenty of people who would happily take advantage of someone and at 18 while you're legally an adult you still have a lot of growing up to do.

At 18 I was more sexually mature (as in, I knew what I wanted, had more knowledge about dangers of sleeping around, and possibly had had more experience) than many people I see on kink sites and sites like this who are middle aged.

Many people who are middle aged come out of broken-down long-term relationships. They've never experimented sexually before they were in a relationship. They've lived relatively sheltered lives. They've decided they want to start exploring... and... they're naive.

So the question is, how do you tell the difference? And *should* you make assumptions based on peoples age?

I was writing that with a couple of people that I know in my head. Primarily friends of my parents who had left marriages (which they'd been in since they were *very* young) and found themselves in rather hot water when they ventured out into the world of sex for the first time alone.

Also some older men I met on kink sites who had been in similar personal situations. I actually felt like I might be taking advantage of them because they were extraordinarily naieve.

So my point is - don't judge that a young person might not know what they are getting themselves into. Because that could equally apply to an older person.

I personally think having 18yo is perfectly fine on here as long as they are mature about things.

I can image that it would be proper weird if you saw your children on here, just as weird as it would be for me to see my parents who are in their 40s, doesn't mean I think anyone 40+ shouldn't be allowed to use fab though

One point. Teenagers are more sexually aware today than previous generations thank's to the Internet.

The question is are they mature enough to know what to do with that awareness?

I would prefer the minimum age to be 21,same as lots of nightclubs and some pub's /bar's.

Yes there maybe the random teen who is very mature at 18 but generally and yes I am generalising, most in particular boy's are not mature at 18.

We have two children 17,and 25.

The older has kid's of his own.

But the difference between him at 17 and her at 17 in terms of maturity is massive.

But hey ho if they want to join at 18 and are free to do so then so be it.

Better than being radicalised or brainwashed by some religious cult.

Btw I am 46 and still immature so who says I am old enough to be here?

Same here. I think I met my first guy off the net for sex at about the same age.

Meeting guys on the internet for sex is great. And a site like this enables you to check verifications and at least allows you to see what some other people think about the person first - if you need to.

I'd suggest that's marginally safer than many ways of finding casual sex.

I was married with 3 children by the time I was 21. At 25 I had a lot of responsibility. If someone is mature minded enough to use the site and get what they want from it then I see no reason why they shouldn't be on here. It's about what they want not you or I.
