If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be?

Anxiety. I'm a big worrier and I can sometimes spiral into a a big "what if this happens, and then this happens, and then this..." and I get quite stressed about it. I'm a bit like this at the moment! So yes, if I could be a bit more laid back and easy going I would be.

"If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be?"

Probably my indecisiveness.

Or my shyness.

Or my anxiety.

But then should I worry about my inability to be serious?

Lol.

Or maybe my use of trendy teenage abbreviations, obvs.

No, definitely my indecisiveness.

Except.....

(continues ad infinitum)

My second guessing that often prevents me doing things I know I'll enjoy. Sometimes my being sensible tips into a 'but what if' type prevarication mode and isn't actually that sensible.

Good luck with it though mate, and if you really do want to change pick up the phone and ring mind they can point you in the right direction for help.

It's not gonna be an easy fix but just think of it like the first day you decided to go to the gym it'd a long road it will take a lot of work and a lot of dedication not just focused on it but other aspects of your life too.

But in the end you can change it.

Me too. It was what inspired me to start the thread. For the most part though, I think most things have some good that come with the bad.

Even if it's only to identify others in a similar position and be able to empathise.

Don't beat yourself up trying to change the unchangeable. Acceptance starts with yourself. Easier said than done though.

But everyone is fighting a personal battle. This is one of ours.

D speaking: I hate how my hatred for authority has gotten me in trouble over the years. Never knowing when to keep my mouth shut.

Another is the whole swinging lifestyle. I love it as a concept and me and the wife have a great time. But, I have recently figured out how different I am to most people. Its very hard knowing that my family actually know so little about me. My _iews on the world are completely different to my family and to have to sit and nod my head at some of the bollocks they go on about is and can be very difficult.

Knowing that so many people you class as good friends or family would hate how we live can be painful at times.

Yes the world does simply because you are in it and functioning. Just as you wouldn't be recognisable as yourself without what you have so it follows the world wouldn't be recognisable without you.
